Five teams to watch going into the ALGS EMEA Split 1 Playoffs

On Saturday, the best EMEA teams in the ALGS Split 1 will compete to see who walks away from the Playoffs victorious

The Apex Legends Global Series Split 1 Playoffs for the Europe, Middle East and Africa region kick off Saturday at 12 p.m. ET. The EMEA groups have shown ALGS fans plenty of action so far, but the Playoffs will be the first chance for these teams to compete in a full fledged tournament for the season.

It will also be fans’ first opportunity to check out the new Multiview feature during ALGS Twitch streams, which will allow them to follow the action from their favorite teams’ perspectives. If fans unsure of who they’d like to spectate during the Playoffs, check these teams out.

DungeonMast33rs

While DungeonMast33rs, the Russian squad consisting of Maxim “Exens” Dmitruk, Rostislav ” PlushkaHDD” Yuryevich Chertovskikh and Vladislav “Lumiii_N” Dotsenko, were not in the top five, or even top ten at the end of the EMEA Split 1 season, they’ve had too many memorable plays this past year to have them go unmentioned.  They may not be the strongest in terms of overall placement, but DungeonMast33rs know how to win games, and that’s always interesting when it comes down to placements.

MajorPushers

Another Russian squad (formed of Kirill “RANCHES” Rulin, Denis “cleaveee” Rassokhin and Artem “fitoo” Ivanov), MajorPushers ultimately placed higher than DungeonMast33rs in the fifth week of competition – 11th in EMEA with 23 points, while DungeonMast33rs came in 15th with 19 points. But beyond their performance on paper, MajorPushers have proven time and time again during this season that they know how to survive and win games as well as, if not better, than DungeonMast33rs.

Rebel

Rebel are one of the rarer squads who actually managed to take back to back games during a match day. Beyond that, they placed tenth in the final EMEA rankings, which while not the highest, definitely puts them within striking distance of the top. Rebel have put up a fight all season, and the Split 1 Playoffs should be no different.

69iQ Esports

This was the Dutch organization’s first year in the EMEA Split 1 Pro League. They won the first EMEA Pre-Season Qualifier, and ultimately placed fourth overall in the region at the end of the Split 1 regular season. In short, they’re a force to be reckoned with, one many probably didn’t see coming. I can’t imagine their performance in the Playoffs will be any different.

Gambit

While it’s pretty much always boring to highlight teams that have been sitting at the top, Gambit’s dominance over EMEA cannot be overstated. They came in first for the regular season, and did so comfortably, sitting six points above the second place Alliance. The team is headed up by in-game leader Konstantin “Hardecki”  Kozlov, who has already proven he’s more than capable of popping off this at the ALGS EMEA Split 1 Playoffs.
