Florida Mutineers CDL player Prestinni benched in favor of Fero

The Florida Mutineers have had a fairly decent start in the Call of Duty League. Of course, this was before the move to the online-only format amid the COVID-19 outbreak. While this change shouldn’t affect the team too much, one thing that might is a roster shakeup. At CDL Los Angeles, the Mutineers subbed in Maurice “Fero” Henriquez for Preston “Prestinni” Sanderson. At the time, this was Prestinni’s choice, as he’s been struggling with mental health problems. However, after a few weeks, this looks to be permanent even with Prestinni back in action.

Fero and Prestinni swapping places for Florida?

Prestinni, a former World Champion, was one of Florida’s biggest signings at the beginning of the CDL. Though it took some time, Prestinni really came into his own at the last couple of events the Mutineers attended. He even led the team to a Grand Finals appearance in Atlanta where they lost to the Atlanta FaZe.

After the former eUnited star announced he would be sitting out of CDL L.A., the community rallied behind his decision. Personal health should always come first, and Florida respected his wishes, signing Fero on what was thought to be a temporary basis.

However, fast forward a couple of weeks, and it seems Fero has won the starting job. Prestinni commented on Reddit that it wasn’t his decision to remain on the bench.

So, it looks like Fero is doing more than a decent job at filling in for Prestinni. It’s unclear if the current Florida roster will remain intact whenever the CDL does start back up, but it does appear that Prestinni is tinkering with his options. He recently competed with a team of professional players not currently on starting CDL rosters.

For the time being, it looks like Prestinni is still on Florida’s roster. However, should the Mutineers move forward with Fero, the world champion could look for options elsewhere.
