Flusha reacts to recent FaceIt Pro League player removals

Popular Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CSGO) platform FaceIt took fire last week as a result of player removals from the FaceIt Pro League (FPL). FPL is one of the most exclusive hubs for some of the world’s best CSGO players. Its admins require a high level of professionalism and mechanical skill for players to retain membership.

Last week, European FPL admins abruptly removed over 30 individual players without explanation. Interestingly, several players kicked from the hub have a robust competitive history. For example, the list includes Jakob “JUGi” Hansen, who recently played on North. Besides JUGi, admins kicked seven of the top 20 players from last month.

Flusha speaks out

Robin “flusha” Rönnquist, a Swedish CSGO player for Fnatic, has now shared his own thoughts on the ordeal. In a TwitLonger post, he says that while he doesn’t agree with all of the removals, he understands why those players may have been kicked. He emphasized that players should reflect on their behavior in FPL, rather than statistics. Continuing, Flusha reminds the community that there’s more to being a quality player than having a good K/D ratio.

“Players who were removed have to think about why they might have gotten removed, even if you feel it’s unfair because you “play bitch positions” or “have really good k/d ratio”. You could be lacking in communication, spreading negativity or being a bad team player overall.”

According to Flusha, there’s been an apparent lack of quality gameplay in the hub that has led professional players to stray away from playing.

“This is why most Tier 1 players arent staying around, because we are looking for quality games rather than quantity, so why would we bother having to play maybe 5 matches to get 1 or 2 good games.”

For now, there’s no word on if any of the removals will be overturned. Perhaps admins will re-invite former members if they feel the player has corrected any behavioral or gameplay issues. However, moving forward, it’s easy to say the community would appreciate more concrete performance guidelines in the hub.
