It looks like the 2018 Worlds Finalists might have found their stride as we head into the second half of the LEC Spring Split. Fnatic has beaten the red-hot Origen in week six in very convincing fashion.

Fnatic is looking for a reversal of fortune after three 1-1 weekends in a row. This was following a pretty disappointing start to their 2019 campaign, where they started off 0-4. However, many people were waiting for the day that this team would active. Their new mid laner, Tim “Nemesis” LipovÅ¡ek, has really started to settle into his role on the team. As a result, the rest of the team has begun adjusting their gameplan successfully.
Meanwhile, Origen has been on a tear as of late with a five-game winning streak heading into week six. Similar to Fnatic, the LEC fans have been waiting for this team to live up to the immense hype that had built around them in the 2018 offseason. Luckily for this roster, they have finally found their mojo as we headed into the second half of the Spring Split. Erlend “Nukeduck” VÃ¥tevik Holm has become one of the best mid laners in the LEC, and their bottom lane duo has also found some good synergy together.
Fnatic stomps Origen in 28 minutes
Right from the first minute, Fnatic would look much more aggressive, calculated and dominant than their early-season performances. After a Fnatic “death-brush” that netted Martin “Rekkles” Larsson an early kill, it would set the tone for the rest of the game. By the fifteen minute mark, Fnatic would lead with twelve kills to Origen’s three. They also had two towers and an infernal dragon to boot. Rekkles already had a 1000 gold bounty, as he led his team at the point with five kills and four assists.

With such a sizable lead, Fnatic would keep their foot on the gas pedal. Their macro plays across the map were brilliant, and their rotations with Nocturne, Sion and Galio were always on point. It seemed like Origen were simply outmatched the whole game, and were on the backpedal for a majority of the time. The only kills on the Origen side were on Alfonso “Mithy” Aguirre RodrÃguez, who was on Tahm Kench. It was a complete slaughter that just couldn’t be stopped, as Rekkles would dominate with ten kills on the day. Nemesis also played really well on Zoe, collecting himself eight kills and eight assists. Mads “Broxah” Brock-Pedersen was a huge factor in their win too, as his ganks were picture-perfect and really got his lanes ahead.
Looking Ahead
For Origen, they cannot dwell too much on this game. They still have one more game to play this weekend and its against the struggling Misfits Gaming. Origen will need to take this game to avoid finishing with an 0-2 weekend. They were simply destroyed in the early game, so if they wish to win against Misfits, they’ll need to shut down their opponents early. A big focus for them will have to be Steven “Hans Sama” Liv, who Misfits have been relying on completely.
Fnatic will be facing off against their greatest challenge yet in G2 Esports. Although improbable, they will need to get their side lanes going early once again. It will be up to Broxah again to activate his lanes and prepare them for the later stages of the match, where Fnatic has the best chance of winning. Look for Rekkles and Zdravets “Hylissang” Iliev Galabov to be the focus for the boys in orange tomorrow!
