United Kingdom-based esports organization Fnatic revealed it has signed former SK Gaming jungler Oskar “Selfmade” Boderek to its League of Legends roster. Selfmade will fill in the role that former Fnatic jungler Mads “Broxah” Brock-Pedersen held, after the latter left for a position on North American esports organization Team Liquid.

Selfmade joins Fnatic as jungler
“I’ve joined Fnatic to win Worlds and to become the best jungler in the world. It won’t be an easy task, but I fully believe we can do it. I’m grateful for a once in a lifetime opportunity to work for such a huge organization. I’m delighted to be reunited with Nemesis and to play alongside three Worlds finalists,” said Selfmade on himself joining Fnatic, in a release. “I’m very open-minded and I always look for new experiences, both in-game and in life… And, to all of those who’ve followed me this far, thank you for cheering for me in all moments throughout my career. It’s here in Fnatic that I can make you most proud.”
Selfmade is considered a rookie as he only joined the League of Legends European Championship (LEC) in 2018. Previously, he played for Spanish esports organizations like ThunderX3 Baskonia and MAD Lions in the LVP league. During his first season with SK Gaming, the team placed 6th place in the 2019 LEC Spring Split and finished 5 – 6th in the Spring Split Playoffs. The team didn’t do much better in the Summer Split with a 7th place finish, which is a big contrast from what Broxah accomplished on Fnatic.
LEC 7th place to Worlds?
“Everything in this offseason has been decisions within Fnatic’s control. For right or wrong, we make bold and tough decisions in order to deliver a Worlds-winning team for you,” said Sam Mathews, founder and CEO of Fnatic. “Sometimes, things have to change, and we welcome Selfmade now in our search for topping global League of Legends.”
However, it seems Fnatic thinks Selfmade has a lot of potential to be unearthed. In addition, Selfmade reunites with player Tim “Nemesis” Lipovšek, whom he has played with before on MAD Lions. After head coach Joey “YoungBuck” Steltenpool left for Excel Esports, there have been rumors that former Origen support player Alfonso “Mithy” Aguirre Rodríguez will join to take his place instead.
