Fortnite Chapter 2 leaked trailer shows off new map and mechanics

After nearly 24 hours of staring at a black hole, we finally have some leaks about Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 1. Thanks to multiple sources online, a leaked trailer went live all across social media. This trailer is the showcase for the new Battle Pass coming to Chapter 2 but also shows off multiple new mechanics coming to Fortnite. From the brand new map to new weapons and vehicles, this is certainly the most ambitious season for Epic Games and Fortnite. Let’s take a look at everything we noticed in the leaked Fortnite Chapter 2 trailer.

Due to Epic Games’ strict copyright rules, we will not be posting the leaked trailer. However, we were able to watch it before it was taken down by the original poster, @SkinTrackerCom. The trailer itself is only 30 seconds long and has no commentary but does show a great deal of new info.

Starting off, it looks like progression skins are continuing their stay in the Battle Pass. Four new skins were seen in the trailer, but each had at least three different designs. Presumably, you can unlock each skin’s design by leveling up your season rank.

Speaking of the actual Battle Pass, the trailer mentions “new ways to level up.” We’re unsure of what this means, but it’s safe to say Fortnite will feature new challenges or ways to go about earning XP. Also, the trailer shows a player getting to level 127, which means there will no longer be only 100 levels. Although, it’s unclear whether or not this is for the Battle Pass or seasonal rank.

In terms of the new map and mechanics, tons of gameplay was shown off. In Chapter 2, there will now be drivable boats as well as actual swimming/diving. Now, instead of wading through the water slowly, you can go underwater and swim undetected.

Another interesting new mechanic is the ability to pick up a knocked teammate. The trailer showcased one player carrying another on their back, which likely means you’re able to carry your teammate to safety in order to revive them.

While the above information all relates to the map and mechanics, we do have some additional leaks about actual gameplay. According to Fortnite leaker @HYPEX, editing may be changing as well. Coming from an anonymous source, HYPEX states that editing may be receiving an overhaul with Chapter 2.

The Chapter 2 map revealed?

In an entirely separate leak, it appears as if an overhead look at the new Fortnite Chapter 2 map was leaked. Coming from @HYPEX, we can potentially see the new map.

Although this could be legitimate, it is still a leak, so we have no idea if this map is correct or not. We’ll reportedly have to keep waiting until Tuesday morning (maybe even longer) to find out any answers to our questions.
