Epic Games says that the skins will be available for purchase on November 9th, at 7PM ET. At launch, the store will have the outfits from all 32 NFL teams ready to go. Additionally, the game will be providing a Fortnite-themed football uniform for purchase. When a player buys the outfit, they will be able to choose what number they want on the front of the jersey. Of course, the jersey will be available for both male and female body types. Users will be able to change the outfit to any of the 32 NFL teams as well.

Not only that, but Fortnite will also bring a special referee outfit to the store, as well as football-themed emotes, gliders, and harvesting tools. Mark Rein, the co-founder of Epic Games, would say, “We have so many football fans at Epic and we know a lot of the game’s fans share that same enthusiasm. Allowing our players to represent their favorite teams in the game was too cool of an opportunity for us to pass up, and we couldn’t be happier with how they turned out!” This is actually the first time Fortnite has made such a big collaboration with a sports league.

Even Brian Rolapp, Chief Media and Business Officer at the NFL, would express his excitement, saying, “We see the popularity of Fortnite every day at the NFL as many of our players are passionate about this game. This partnership represents a great opportunity for millions of NFL fans who are Fortnite players to express their fandom inside the game while at the same time exposing our brand to countless others.”

Price and Possible Future Collaborations

As for the cost, the skins range from 1,200 to 1,500 V-bucks, which translates to around $15. The price has not been announced by Epic Games yet. However, we expect the price point to be around the same range. This will definitely sell out to many fans of the game. As seen on social media, sports fans and fans of the game overlap heavily. It is a great opportunity for Epic Games as well, as it may open future collaborations with different leagues.

For example, plenty of NBA athletes play Fortnite during the season. They could introduce NBA jerseys to the mix, which would sell out just as well as the NFL. Even the world of soccer has been affected by the uber-popular video game. Multiple goal celebrations have been influenced by the game as well. The soccer world could be a huge market for Epic Games to tap into. Many people believe that this is only the beginning for Epic Games and their collaborations with the sports world.
