G2 Esports continues to reign terror over the LEC with one of the fastest wins in both EU LCS and LEC history. The European super team would take down Fnatic in an astounding 20 minutes and 29 seconds.

G2 Esports may be one of the best teams in the world right now. As their newly-minted ADC, Luka “Perkz” Perković, would say, “Yeah, I think we are up there alongside Griffin and Invictus Gaming.” Now, this may be jumping to conclusions too early, but you cannot deny their dominance in a much-improved European region. They have great synergy as a squad with great macro play, as well as incredible firepower across all their roles.
Meanwhile, Fnatic hasn’t been looking as hot over the past few weeks. However, they were coming into this matchup with a win over the surging EXCEL Esports. People were probably hoping for steady improvement, especially since they went to the Grand Finals of Worlds 2018. Unfortunately, they still haven’t really garnered enough momentum and synergy together yet, unlike their opponents today.
G2 Esports takes down Fnatic in 20 minutes
Absolute destruction. That is all we need to say about this game between G2 and Fnatic. Right from the get-go, this matchup looked absolutely lopsided for the LEC juggernaut. Marcin “Jankos” Jankowski would play great throughout the game, with a confident early game and smart ganks. His play would get his team ahead very early and would be a catalyst for their victory today. After G2 would get the ball rolling, there was nothing stopping them from stomping out Fnatic.

Afterward, there was nothing Fnatic could do. They were so disorganized and out-of-sync for the whole match. The only player to get a kill on the team would be Mads “Broxah” Brock-Pedersen, who could not find any leads for his side lanes. As a result, G2 would lead the game with fifteen kills to Fnatic’s lowly four. The boys in orange would even get a chance to surrender before their nexus would explode. Not only was this the fastest game this season for the LEC, but it was also the fastest game in Europe’s history. This game beat out the previous record held by G2 Esports back in 2016, where they took down Giants Gaming in 20 minutes and 55 seconds.
Final Thoughts
For Fnatic, this will only further their problems heading into week five. Losing in such a manner will never feel good to any team, and being on the wrong side of history must feel even worse. They still don’t have the same synergy they had last year. However, this week wasn’t a lost cause, even with such a horrible loss to G2. Their win against EXCEL is a great start to a slow, steady improvement of their game.
Meanwhile, G2 Esports looks forward to facing off against Misfits Gaming and Origen next week. However, they may be already looking past the LEC towards international events. They have already been comparing themselves with some of the best in the world. However, they shouldn’t get too ahead of themselves. G2 still needs to raise the European championship before looking at the rest of the top teams in the scene.
