Berlin-based organization G2 Esports announced it has signed Nemanja “nexa” Isaković and Nemanja “huNter-” Kovač to its Counter-Strike: Global Offensive roster. This roster change comes after alleged player poaching accusations by their former organization CR4ZY’s CEO Antonio Meic. The two players will replace the spots that Richard “shox” Papillon and Lucas “Lucky” Chastang formerly held on the roster.

Nexa and huNter- leave CR4ZY
The two Serbian CSGO players most recently played for German esports organization CR4ZY. The CEO of CR4ZY, Antonio Meic, took to social media in September to accuse G2 Esports CEO Carlos “ocelote” Rodriguez of attempting to poach his players.
However, several replies felt that there was nothing wrong with poaching. This is because if teams approach the organization first, the team owner will usually disagree and then not pass on the message to the player. In many cases, the offer by the other organization is more beneficial toward the player, but the team owner doesn’t want to let go of his player. Additionally, CSGO is not franchised like League of Legends or Overwatch, which forbid teams from scouting players while they still have a contract.
In an interview with HLTV, Meic talked about how he had owed €20,000 in prize money to former members. The CEO also talked about how he had offers between €75,000 and €250,000 for some of his players, which probably included both huNter- and nexa. Later in the interview, he is quoted as saying “for me, huNter- is worth 100 million… So for me, he is priceless”. However, just a few weeks later, both players have transferred to a new roster.

Nexa and huNter- placed 2nd at tournaments like Berlin’s Europe Minor Championship and the Arctic Invitational. CR4ZY also placed 9 – 11th at 2019’s StarLadder Berlin Major. The two players join Kenny “kennyS” Schrub, Audric “JaCkz” Jug, and François “AmaNEk” Delaunay on the roster. The G2 Esports team most recently placed 3 – 4th at 2019’s ESL One: New York event. Lucas “Lucky” Chastang has been placed on the bench.
