Announced at CES today, LG Electronics (LG) is making their mark once again in esports. They’ll be partnering with Gen.G Esports (Gen.G). LG is already known for having high quality gaming monitors and are taking the dive further into esports.
Gen.G and LG UltraGearTM
Gen G Esports is ranked by Forbes as number six on the list of the “World’s Valuable Esports Companies”. They operate teams in China, South Korea, and the United States. Gen G is one of the biggest esports organizations in the world. Gen G will be collaborating with LG to demonstrate LG’s commitment and support for the gaming community. LG’s line of UltraGearTM gaming monitors are well known by gamers, particularly the Millennials and Generation Z community.
According to Chris Park, the CEO of Gen.G esports, the partnership aims to provide “the ultimate gaming experience” to both professionals and pros alike. As part of the new relationship, Gen.G pro gamers will experience the full power of 4K play with UltraGearTM gaming monitors.
It seems like there is also more scope to expand the relationship, as Gen.G offers many pathways for players through their Gen.G Global Academy. The Academy fosters and develops future esports gamers and industry leaders through education programs. There’s also programs specifically for women and low-income students.
The organization also has teams competing across League of Legends, Overwatch, and PUBG.
Not the first partnership for Gen.G
As an organization operating across China, Korea, and the United States, Gen.G has a fairly big presence in the gaming community. They also have many partnerships with leading global brands such as Benefit Cosmetics, Mercedes-Benz, PUMA, Logitech, Geek Star, McDonald’s, and more. You’ll find a full list of all the Gen.G partners on its website. With Gen.G’s presence in the esports industry, it will be exciting to see how this partnership with LG flourishes.
