Spanish esports organization Vodafone Giants has unveiled a revamped CSGO roster. While the Portuguese squad retained team captain Ricardo “fox” Pacheco and resigned Claudio “Cunha” Cunha, three new players from eXploit have joined the roster.

Giants are back in business

The Portuguese roster has gone through quite a few changes. The team released Ricardo “rmn” Oliveira and Christopher “MUTiRiS” Fernandes following contract expirations just before the start of the 2020 season. Spanish player Omar “arki” Chakkor also left the squad.

A trio from eXploit, another Portuguese team, have come on board to fill the Giants’ vacancies. The new signings are Filipe “NOPEEJ” Dias, an 18-year-old rising star, Renato “renatoohaxx” Gonçalves, and Bruno “BLOODZ” Mourão. Additionally, Vasco “vsk” Santos has come on board as the team’s coach.

Cunha rejoins fox on the Giants CSGO roster.

The refreshed Giants roster is as follows:

  • Ricardo “fox” Pacheco
  • Claudio “Cunha” Cunha
  • Renato “renatoohaxx” Gonçalves
  • Filipe “NOPEEJ” Dias
  • Bruno “BLOODZ” Mourão
  • Vasco “vsk” Santos (coach)

A fresh start for the Portuguese

The transfer marks a new beginning for the team going into the 2020 CSGO season. While the team had some success near the end of 2019, the team lacked in major victories overall last season. The Portuguese squad was successful at GameGune 21 and Master League Portugal IV as they took first place at both November events.

They also made it to BLAST Pro Series Madrid 2019 after a good performance at the play-ins, beating Movistar Riders in the final. However, their appearance at the event was a short one as the team finished in last place. Perhaps this year with the reforged squad, the Giants will show more edge and finesse at upcoming events.
