North American esports organization Golden Guardians has announced that they have acquired Yuri “Keith” Jew from Cloud9’s Academy team. In exchange for the Cloud9 Academy ADC player, they have traded over their AD carry Matthew “Deftly” Chen. Keith will play along with Kim “Olleh” Joo-sung for the rest of the 2019 LCS Summer Split.

Deftly joined Golden Guardian’s main roster in December of 2017, but he moved to the Academy team in July. He previously played for eUnited before joining Golden Guardians in a bot laner role. Golden Guardians placed last in both the Spring and Summer Splits of the 2018 NA LCS. Afterward, the team made modifications to their roster and placed 5th in the 2019 LCS Spring Split, instead. However, they ended up losing to FlyQuest in the Playoffs.
Keith left Echo Fox to join Cloud9 during the same month as Deftly. However, he played on the Academy team for the bulk of his career. Before Echo Fox, Keith played on teams like Team Liquid, Team SoloMid, Cloud9, and CLG Black. While on Cloud9’s Academy team, they went on to place first during the 2019 Spring Split. They then took home second at the 2019 Spring Playoffs, after losing to TSM Academy.
Earlier this month, Victor “FBI” Huang and Choi “Huhi” Jae-hyun joined Golden Guardian’s main roster from the Academy team. Deftly will continue the rest of the 2019 Summer Split on Cloud9’s Academy team. Golden Guardians is currently tied with OpTic Gaming in the 2019 LCS Summer Split. 100 Thieves and Clutch Gaming are right below the two teams. Counter Logic Gaming and Team SoloMid are the same, but tied for third instead. GGS will play their next matches in Week 7 against TSM and Team Liquid.
