Prior to Season 3 of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, there was a clear-cut top dog in the shotgun class. The Streetsweeper, introduced in Season 1, was a notch above the other two available shotguns. It featured the ability to one-shot kill enemies as a semi-automatic weapon, which attracted many players.
However, in Season 3, developer Treyarch decided to nerf the Streetsweeper and buff the game’s other shotguns. Both the Hauer 77 and Gallo SA12 have been buffed significantly in Black Ops Cold War, meaning a new contender for the best shotgun loadout is here. While there’s not a definitive answer, the Hauer 77 certainly looks to be a great option for those looking to run a shotgun secondary.
Best Hauer 77 loadout in Black Ops Cold War
A pump-action shotgun, the Hauer 77 was the best in class before the Streetsweeper arrived on the scene. After that, it was more of an afterthought even though it possessed the same stats as when it was popular.
Of course, then the nerf to the Streetsweeper and buff to the Hauer came in and players are scrambling back to the pump-action. The exact buff for the Hauer 77 concerns its max damage range. The developers boosted this from 5.08 meters to 5.72. They also reduced the penalties of the Task Force barrel, which is now featured on the gun’s recommended loadout.
- Muzzle: Duckbill Choke
- Barrel: 25.2″ Task Force
- Body: Steady Aim Laser
- Handle: Speed Tape
- Stock: Shotgun Stock
This loadout features very few penalties, starting with the Duckbill Choke. This muzzle reduces the pellet spread without having any negatives side effects. Following that up is the Steady Aim Laser, Speed Tape and Shotgun Stock, all of which also feature no penalties. Each of these attachments is in place to increase the Hauer 77’s mobility.
The last piece of the loadout is the aforementioned Task Force barrel. While it does have some drawbacks, the increase in damage is too good to pass up. Its recent buffs make it the best barrel to use on the Hauer 77 and we thoroughly recommend it.
