Lost Ark has officially been opened to the western world. Previously, the popular MMORPG was only available in Korea and, now with a new audience, it is exploding with popularity on Twitch and Steam. With the game growing in size, players will want to join up with their friends and experience the world of Arkesia together. However, one issue some players are running into is trouble trying to add friends in Lost Ark.

Unlike other Steam titles, Lost Ark doesn’t use your Steam friends list to invite players to parties. Instead, you need to enter a player’s Lost Ark username and add them through the game’s system itself. This can make the process of adding friends more difficult, as some players aren’t even sure where to go to add their friends. If you keep reading below, though, you’ll find all the answers to your questions.

Adding friends in Lost Ark

Unfortunately, you actually aren’t able to add friends right away in Lost Ark. Instead, you’ll have to wait until you’re finished with the “prologue” of the game and make it to the town of Prideholme. This is where the game truly opens up, allowing you to get a mount and create or join a guild.

After you reach Prideholme, you’ll have to do a bit more exploring in Loghill before you can add friends. To do this, you can click on the new Community button in the righthand corner of the screen. It will be glowing after you enter Prideholme. The Friends list won’t be available until you reach that certain point in Loghill, though. From here, select the “Friends” tab and then press the “Request” option.

This brings you to a screen where you can search for a player’s Lost Ark name and send them a friend request. To play with them, you can right-click on their name, once they’ve accepted the request and press “Invite to party.” You just need to make sure you’re on the same world/server as that player.
