Pokémon Sword and Shield‘s expansion, The Crown Tundra, offers players a chance to catch every Legendary Pokémon and even certain Mythical Pokémon. One of these Pokémon is Keldeo, a Water/Fighting-type that resembles a pony.
Prior to the Crown Tundra, the only way to get Keldeo was from promotional events. Now, you can find it and catch it. Here’s how to do so.
How to find and catch Keldeo
Before you can get Keldeo, you need to catch all three of the Swords of Justice Pokémon: Virizion, Terrakion, and Cobalion. To catch these, you must have progressed far enough to get the Legendary Quest from Sonia. She will task you to find footprints and track down each of these Pokémon.
Once you’ve caught all three of them, you need to put them in your party. Then, fly to Dyna Tree Hill. From here, you can enter the lake surrounding the tree by heading down the incline directly to the right after leaving the tree area.
Bike out to the center of the lake where you will find a small island with two trees on it. Behind one of these trees is a cooking pot. Set up camp with Virizion, Terrakion, and Cobalion in your party and fix some curry (it doesn’t matter what kind of curry you make).
Once you and your Pokémon finish eating, exit the camp and Keldeo will appear. Make sure to save the game and bring plenty of Poké Balls and healing items, because Keldeo isn’t easy to catch.
Keldeo is level 65 and knows Secret Sword, Sacred Sword, Swords Dance, and Hydro Pump. Sacred Sword and Secret Sword are Fighting-type moves and Hydro Pump is Water-type. Make sure to take Pokémon that resist these types.
If you don’t want to deal with the hassle of weakening and catching it, you can always use a Master Ball.
