How to mark an Alien Egg for Fortnite Week 7 challenge

The Epic and Legendary Quests in Fortnite Chapter 2 – Season 7 have been released and players are beginning to knock off the challenges one by one. Most players are finding the Epic set to be much easier than the Legendary set, which comes with some difficult tasks. One of these tasks is marking an alien egg.

Alien eggs are sprouting up all over the Season 7 island, thanks to the help of players through weekly challenges. In Week 7 alone, players have had to keep campfires stoked for the eggs and collect parenting books for the aliens. The trend continues with marking an alien egg, which isn’t as difficult as it sounds.

Marking an Alien Egg in Fortnite

The process of marking something in Fortnite is otherwise known as pinging an object. The pinging system came to Fortnite long ago and allows players to communicate with their teammates in a nonverbal fashion. For this week’s challenge, though, players are pinging an egg for their own gain.

Of course, players need to first find an alien egg on the island. Luckily, there are set spots where alien eggs spawn every match. Players can make their way to the center of the map, where the purple Aftermatch explosion is located. Here, they’ll run into Zyg and Choppy; new NPCs in Season 7. They can be found roaming the banks of the river, located due west of the aftermath.

Around Zyg and Choppy, players will find a plethora of alien eggs. Once players have located one of the eggs, all they need to do is mark it by pressing their ping button. A basic ping will do, so there’s no need to mark it with anything fancy. Once the ping is set directly on the egg, the challenge will be complete. Payers will then be awarded 30,000 XP for their Season 7 Battle Pass.
