The Season 4 Reloaded update is coming on July 15 for both Call of Duty: Warzone and Black Ops Cold War. While the patch notes for the update have already been released, the content officially goes live at 12 a.m. ET. New maps for multiplayer and Zombies, game modes for Warzone and two weapons for all of the titles are to be expected.

The first weapon arriving with the mid-season update is the OTs 9; a compact SMG with a small magazine but high damage. The second weapon is the Mace; a melee weapon that looks absolutely devastating to wield. With the OTs 9 unlock process already covered, it’s time to see how to unlock the Mace in Warzone and Cold War.

Unlocking the Mace in Season 4

Treyarch hasn’t changed up the unlock process for mid-season weapons in three seasons and they’re not stopping now. The Mace in Warzone and Cold War will unlock the same way as the OTs 9. Players can either complete a challenge specifically associated with the melee weapon or purchase a store bundle that contains it.

The first of the methods is the hardest but doesn’t require any money. As the Reloaded update hasn’t been released yet, the challenge is still unknown. However, it will involve players using a melee weapon to perform a certain action in a set number of matches.

The second method is the easiest but will cost players some cash. When the Season 4 Reloaded update releases, the Store will update in Warzone and Cold War. There will be two new bundles; one containing the OTs 9 and one housing the Mace. The prices for the bundles aren’t yet public, but players can likely expect to dole out at least $10 to unlock one of the two bundles. If players choose this route, they’ll automatically unlock the weapon and its blueprint. However, they won’t be able to complete camo challenges until they fully unlock it through the specific task for it.

Season 4 Reloaded will release on July 15 at 12 a.m. ET.
