Immortals have officially acquired legendary brand Made in Brazil (MiBR) for their CSGO team.
The team has given the details of the acquisition on the MiBR website. Made in Brazil is an iconic name in the Counter-Strike esports community. MIBR was one of the most successful esports organizations in the early 2000’s. They were able to win first at the 2006 Electronic Sports World Cup, the 2007 SHG Open, and DreamHack Winter 2007. They were also able to win first place at Intel Extreme Masters Season III Finals.
Noah Whinston, CEO of Immortals and MIBR, had this to say about the esports scene in Brazil:
Brazil is incredibly passionate about esports, and this acquisition allows us to foster further esports growth in what we believe is still a relatively untapped market in Brazil and throughout South America. The MIBR brand creates a direct link to Brazil’s national pride and sports and entertainment culture. We are eager to invest in the Brazilian esports scene and to create a platform for the region’s amazing professional esports talent to continue to excel and dominate.
At the same time, Immortals and MiBR are to add two new patrons to MiBR’s existing partnerships. The team now introduces dating app Tinder and online gambling site Betway as partners alongside Razer, K-Swiss, and Mountain Dew. Made in Brazil will be working with Tinder to bring CS:GO fans in Brazil and around the world together. Additionally, Levi Nitzberg, Director of Global Business Development for Tinder, had this to say:
“We know that gaming is a passion among many of our users all over the world, and we are excited to be the first dating app to enter the esports space with Immortals as our partner. Tinder’s global presence and highly engaged user base provides us with a unique platform which, just like esports, brings millions of people together to connect over shared interests.”
Tinder Plus and Tinder Gold, two of Tinder’s premium app services, will be a focus for the team. Due to this, MIBR will give special offers to people who subscribe to these two services. For example, some special service will include VIP access to parties after CS:GO majors, and limited edition merchandise.

The announcement comes as no surprise, as many fans have been speculating that the SK Gaming roster would leave when their contracts expired. There were rumors that the CS:GO roster was growing discontent with SK Gaming management during their time with the team. Therefore, the whole SK Gaming roster transferred over to the MIBR brand. Even their coach, Ricardo “dead” Sinigaglia has been acquired. As a result, the whole MIBR lineup will consist of all Brazilians, save for Jackie “Stewie2K” Yip, who transferred from Cloud9 back in March.
The last tournaments that the roster competed in are ESL One Belo Horizonte 2018, where they placed fourth, and the ESL Pro League Season 7 Finals, where they placed sixth. The first tournament that the new look MIBR team will compete in is at ESL One Cologne. There they will be able to show off the new team colors and their new skills under a new banner.
