According to sources, Immortals will sign former Legacy Esports bot-laner Quin “Raes” Korebrits to the team. The three times Oceanic Professional League of Legends League champion began with Legacy at the start of 2020, and the short-lived contract had put him into a free agent position in North America for this upcoming season.
An opportunity for LCS
As a result of the OPL disbanding, teams were faced with uncertainty as to where their players were headed. Fortunately enough, Oceania players are now considered as North American residents, making team opportunities a lot more possible for several players. Raes being picked up for Immortals may shine some light on his past achievements. In the past year, he helped carry Legacy to first place for multiple splits as well as in All Stars. Before that, he helped bring Chief Esports Club to high ranks from 2017 to 2019. Overall, Immortals may see some major potential in Raes for the upcoming 2021 season.
Raes’ addition to the team comes alongside former Astralis jungler Andrei “Xerxe” Dragomir. Although he did not see first place as often as Raes, he did participate in Worlds 2019 with Splyce, now MAD Lions. Joining them will also be former Astralis support player Mitchell “Destiny” Shaw and Mohamed “Revenge” Kaddoura. Current Immortals player David “Insanity” Challe is expected to continue in their current role.

According to esports journalist Jacob Wolf, Immortals originally planned to buy out former Dignitas bot-laner Johnson “Johnsun” Nguyen until FlyQuest pulled in and took him instead. As a result, they moved forward in signing up Raes for their upcoming 2021 starting roster. It’s unclear how much the team has offered in Raes’ buyout.
