The Overwatch League has successfully found some new shoes to fill the space left by the departure of several broadcasting personalities. Today, Jack “Jaws” Wright and Robert “Hexagrams” Kirkbride were officially announced as Overwatch League’s newest casting duo. This news directly follows “Soe” Gschwind’s announcement that she will host the desk in 2020.

Jaws has been casting minor Overwatch tournaments since 2016. In 2018, he served as a caster for the Paris Qualifier for the Overwatch World Cup. Then, in 2019, he became a caster for the World Cup at BlizzCon. This will be a big step up for the English caster.

His partner, Hexagrams, is a veteran caster who had his start doing Overwatch Weekly with GosuGamers in 2015. He has been on the Overwatch League broadcast team since its inaugural season and broadcasted at the Overwatch League World Cup every year.

Reinforce leak

It isn’t official yet, but the same leak that announced Jaws revealed that Jonathan “Reinforce” Larsson will also be announced as a caster. Reinforce has streamed Overwatch since it first came out in 2016 and has played for multiple contenders teams, as well as Team Sweden. He was also a caster at the Overwatch World Cup in 2018 and 2019. He would seem like a good fit as a caster.

These announcements come after a series of prominent Overwatch League casters chose not to return over the offseason. Five Overwatch League casters announced their departures and left Blizzard to fill those roles. Soe, Jaws, Hexagrams, and perhaps Reinforce have some big shoes to fill.

Hiring Jaws has filled up one of the abandoned spots, but we will no doubt see several more hires announced before the Overwatch League officially begins in New York on Feb. 8. Make sure to stay up-to-date with Daily Esports for all the latest Overwatch news and stories.
