Gwen: The Hallowed Seamstress makes her way onto the rift in this patch. After several teasers from Riot, the champion will now be available for players to select in League. Gwen will make her entrance into League on April 15.  The champion is a doll created by Isolde, the wife of Viego. A lot of players were expecting Isolde herself to hit the rift. However, Riot pulled a surprise with Gwen.

For players looking for how best to play Gwen, Riot has given build advice for the champion. Also, Space Groove skin Gwen will be available after release.

Rammus update

Earlier, Riot announced that Rammus will get VFX updates as part of its plans to change the outlook of several champions. These changes are now available in League of Legends’ Patch 11.8. Rammus W (defensive ball curl) will now last longer with basic attacks through the addition of 0.4 seconds. However, his  E (Frenzying Taunt) and Q(Powerball)  base damage duration are decreased.

Rammus’ biggest update is his ultimate. His ultimate, formerly known as Tremors, will now be called the Soaring Slam. With this new ultimate, he now soars, shocks, slams and slows. With R (Soaring Slam), Rammus will leap into the air slamming down, dealing plus 0.6 AP magic damage and slowing enemies by 15/17.5/20% for 1.5 seconds.

Aside from this, the R will make Rammus create aftershocks at the target location for four seconds, dealing an increase of 0.1 AP magic damage. This will allow the champion to stack the initial slow up to four times. If a player uses Rammus’ ultimate while he is in Powerball, all enemies near the center will be knocked up and suffer from the Powerball’s collision damage. The cooldown on Rammus’ ultimate has increased to  130/110/90 seconds.

Changes to certain jungle  champions

In League of Legends’ Patch 11.8, five champions receive huge skill adjustments. All the changes will allow these jungle champions to fit into the meta, making them stronger gank and scaling champions.

The five champions that are getting jungle champions include Darius, Diana, Mordekaiser, Zed and Morgana. Riot stated that it was “more confident that these changes will give them safe and competitive clears.” These changes will also give players more options for jungle picks.

Patch 11.8 changes made to jungle champions

For Darius, the damage bonus on his Passive (Hemmorrhage) has been increased. Darius now has a hemorrhage monster bonus of 300%.

While Dianna’s Passive (Moonsilver Blade) damage to non-epic monsters has also increased, her Passive damage to non-epic monsters is no longer 150% but 300%.  Also, the attack speed bonus in Dianna’s passive is also increased. The increment depends on a player’s level and ranges from 20 to 40%.

Furthermore, the damage on Morderkaiser’s Passive (Darkness Rise), that helps the champion gain a powerful damage aura and movement speed, is now capped at 180 for all players against monsters.

Morgana’s Passive (Tormented Shadow), like Dianna’s own, has also increased damage against non-epic monsters. However, Morgana’s Passive bonus damage against non-epic monsters increase is only to 200%.

Meanwhile, there are a lot of changes for Zed. His Passive (Contempt for the Weak) on target cooldown no longer affects minions and monsters but will affect enemy champions once every 10 seconds. Also, the Passive will no longer deal increased damage by 100% against monsters. And, the damage is now capped at 300% for all levels on epic monsters.

New Skins and chromas in League of Legends’ Patch 11.8

Patch 11.8 features new skins for six champions. The skins and their cost are as follows;

  • Blackfrost Sion (Epic)-1350 RP
  • Blackfrost Vel’Koz (Epic)-1350 RP
  • Dragon Guardian Galio (Epic)-1350 RP
  • Dragonslayer Kayle (Epic)-1350 RP
  • Dragonslayer Twitch (Epic)-1350 RP
  • Space Groove Gwen (Epic)-1350 RP

The chromas for the above skins are also in Patch 11.8. Also, for this season’s Honor 5 chromas, Riot will add new chromas for Medieval Twitch and Grey Warwicks. This is part of the tradition the keep the rewards flowing for League’s sportsmanlike Summoners who attain Honor 5 after a season.

Summoners will receive one Honor 5 token that can be redeemed for a Medieval Twitch, Grey Warwick, one of the new chromas or a previously released one. Players must own a Medieval Twitch or Grey Warwick to unlock one of their chromas. All Honor 5 capsules will also contain random emote or a ward skin.

Other important changes in League of Legends’ Patch 11.8

Riot has also implemented balance changes to the ARAM mode. League of Legends’ Patch 11.8 also features a lot of item changes, nerfs to Alkali, Yorick, Leona, Orrn, Seraphine, Xerath, Varus, Ziggs and Amumu.

On the other hand, Aurelion Sol, Fiora, Kassadin, Olaf, Rammus, Rengar and Ryze all receive buffs. In addition, aside from the jungle champions changes, there are changes to other champions. These changes will limit the use of some of these champions in other lanes but strengthen their roles in their naturally assigned lanes. Dr Mundo, Annie and Rumble are part of the champions with these changes.
