It seems as though the leaks regarding the future of Call of Duty won’t stop. In the past month, we’ve received a ton of intel regarding both Modern Warfare 2 & 3 Remastered. Of course, the leaks concerning Modern Warfare 2 Remastered turned out to be mostly accurate. However, for a while, the rumor was that MW2 multiplayer was in development alongside Campaign. Unfortunately, this turned out to be inaccurate amid concerns over at Activision.
We still don’t know for sure if Modern Warfare 2 Remastered will receive multiplayer, but what does this mean for Modern Warfare 3 Remastered?
What’s the deal with MW3 Remastered?
If you’ve been following the leaks surrounding Call of Duty, then you know Modern Warfare 3 Remastered has been in the works for a while. Supposedly, Activision and Sony struck a deal that promises every remastered Modern Warfare title will release on PlayStation.
We’ve already seen the first two entries in the series, which only leaves the third title. According to prominent leaker TheGamingRevolution, the Campaign mode for Modern Warfare 3 Remastered is already finished. Activision is simply waiting for the opportune time to announce its existence.
One thing that TGR has also delved into is the possibility of multiplayer in MW3 Remastered. Like with Modern Warfare 2, Activision is reportedly testing multiplayer. This, of course, doesn’t mean a whole lot since we didn’t see the publisher release multiplayer for MW2.
However, it is interesting that the company is supposedly working on multiplayer for both games. This likely means it’s keeping the modes in its back pocket for a rainy day. For example, if a mainstream Call of Duty title looks like it will fail, Activision can release multiplayer for one of the remastered games.
Regardless, it doesn’t look like multiplayer will arrive for either title anytime soon. On the other hand, we could Modern Warfare 3 Campaign Remastered sooner than originally thought.
