LoL: Maurice “Amazing” Stückenschneider joins Schalke 04

Schalke 04 has officially announced that they have signed Maurice “Amazing” Stückenschneider as their jungler for the 2018 Summer Split. The Schalke 04 esports Reddit account responded to the breaking news in the comments of the Reddit thread, saying:

We identified that after spring we needed a player with a different profile than Pride. We needed a leader, a vocal person who’s not afraid of being wrong (and even sometimes is.) Someone that can rally the team behind himself, specially on stage. Maurice fits that for us and he brings a more balanced team chemistry. He’s been with us for 3 weeks now and you can see the effect it’s had on team chemistry.

The team also spoke about their former jungler Milo “Pride” Wehnes and mentioned that it was not Pride’s fault that the team did not mesh together well. “If anything, it lies with the Head Coach selecting a team that didn’t gel well enough together,” said the esports team on Reddit. They have also said that they were helping Wehnes try to find another team. However, he decided to become a substitute/streamer under the team’s name. Pride “did not feel comfortable enough to make the jump” to another organization.

Amazing was a former jungler for Team Solo Mid. In his first season in the North American League of Legends Championship Series, he helped win the 2014 Summer Split. In 2015, he helped European team Origen reach the semi-finals of the League of Legends World Championships, before losing to the eventual World Champions in SK Telecom T1. During the 2017 Spring Split, Amazing played for perennial European Champions, Fnatic. However, the team went 6-7 and current Fnatic jungler Mads “Broxah” Brock-Pedersen replaced him during the Playoffs. For the 2018 Spring Split, Amazing worked for Riot Games and became an analyst on the desk during broadcasts of the European League of Legends Championship Series.

Schalke 04 believe that they have added a confident jungler who will bring experience and leadership to their team. What do you think about this signing? Let us know in the comments below!
