The much anticipated Worlds 2021 patch is here. Patch 11.19 brings the final balancing changes before pros take the stage at the League of Legends World Championship. This patch also marks the release of the game’s newest champion Vex, the return of the URF game mode, the release of Worlds 2021 Jarvan, the debut of several bad ass new Night vs. Dawn theme skins and, of course, the all-new LoL Worlds 2021 event pass. This guide will break down everything you need to know for the new battle pass, including cost, the full list of missions and all of the token rewards available. For the full list of free content available, check out our Worlds 2021 free to play missions guide.

The LoL Worlds 2021 event runs from Sep. 23 at 4 p.m. ET through Nov. 9, 2:59 a.m. ET. As the longest event of the year, players will have ample time to choose whether or not to purchase the pass, complete all of the available milestone and weekly win missions and earn thousands of event tokens.

The ultimate reward in this battle pass is the epic new Nightbringer Kayn Prestige Edition skin (pictured above). That skin can be purchased in the event shop for 2,000 LoL Worlds 2021 tokens.

How much does the Worlds 2021 event pass cost?

From the moment the event begins, all players can purchase the basic LoL Worlds 2021 battle pass for 1,650 RP in the in-client store. Players that buy this event pass will immediately unlock four Worlds 2021 loot orbs and 200 event tokens. Players will also get instant access to a new set of premium Worlds 2021 missions.

The content unlocked with the pass includes 10 new milestone missions and six weekly win missions. Those that purchase the pass will also unlock free token rewards at the end of every matchmade game played for the duration of the event. How is the pass bundle different from the event pass?

Along with the basic Worlds pass outlined above, players will also find a larger LoL Worlds 2021 event pass bundle in the store for 2,650 RP. This bundle includes everything in the battle pass and also contains the full Nightbringer Kayn skin package. Players should note that this is the basic edition of the new Kayn skin and not the prestige edition.

Included in the bundle, alongside the basic Nightbringer Kayn skin, is the skin’s accompanying summoner icon and loading screen border. As a bonus, players that don’t already own Kayn as a champion will receive him too.

Our thoughts: For players on a budget or for those that don’t play Kayn, the basic battle pass is an excellent value at 1,650 RP. This pass costs the same as all other League of Legends event passes throughout the year but contains significantly more rewards.

For Kayn mains and skin collectors, the 2,650 RP bundle is also a bargain. At only a 1,000 RP cost increase, buyers receive a skin valued at 1,350 RP and an icon and loading screen border package that otherwise costs 250 event tokens.

For those that are on the fence between the pass and the bundle, we recommend purchasing the 1,650 RP pass first. Doing so will create an exact discount on the bundle, dropping its price in the store from 2,650 RP to 1,000 RP. Due to this discounting mechanic, purchasing the pass first does not come with any added cost. At the same time, players then have until the last day of the event to decide if they want the skin pack.

This Dawnbringer Vex skin is the champion's first skin. It releases with the Worlds 2021 patch 11.19.

Free token rewards in the LoL Worlds 2021 event pass

Like all modern League of Legends events, the battle pass for Worlds 2021 unlocks free token rewards in every matchmade player vs. player queue.

Essentially, this rewards system gives players a small amount of Worlds tokens at the end of every single queued PvP game they play throughout the duration of the event. This means tokens are rewarded regardless of whether the player wins or loses.

The eligible queues are Summoner’s Rift (Normal or Ranked), ARAM, URF and Teamfight Tactics. Custom games and Co-op vs. AI are not included.

The full breakdown of token reward rates in the Worlds 2021 event is as follows:

ObjectiveReward
Win a game of Summoner’s Rift10 tokens
Lose a game of Summoner’s Rift5 tokens
Win a game of ARAM6 tokens
Lose a game of ARAM3 tokens
Win a game of URF6 tokens
Lose a game of URF3 tokens
Achieve a rank of 1 or 2 in TFT8 tokens
Achieve a rank of 3 or 4 in TFT6 tokens
Achieve a rank of 5 or 6 in TFT4 tokens
Achieve a rank of 7 or 8 in TFT2 tokens

There is no limit to how many tokens players can farm by playing the game while the event is on. Those that are active enough will have ample time to accumulate enough tokens to purchase the 2,000 cost Nightbringer Kayn Prestige Edition skin or the 2,200 token price prestige points bundle. The bundle comes with 100 prestige points and a limited edition summoner icon.

Milestone missions guide: What are milestone missions?

As we previewed above, players that purchase the LoL Worlds 2021 pass will unlock a new list of event missions, titled “milestone” missions.

Riot Games are doing something different with the milestones during this Worlds event. Instead of the usual 20 missions that come in a regular event and the 30 milestones missions that usually accompany the Worlds event, Riot decided to switch things up and give players just 10 milestones this year. But these 10 missions take longer to complete and give significantly more rewards.

Milestone missions unlock one after the other and have no special guidelines. Instead, each milestone simply requires 35 activity points to be completed.

Activity points come from playing in any matchmade game. This is an important distinction from the PvP queue requirements of the free token rewards outlined above because matchmade games include Co-op vs. AI. So, while we don’t recommend fighting bots to blitz through your missions, as you wouldn’t get the bonus free token rewards at the end of each game, the bot queue can be helpful as a last resort to cram missions late in the month as time in the event is running out.

A win in any matchmade game rewards five activity points. A loss rewards two points. For the purposes of Teamfight Tactics, a top four finish is considered a win and a bottom four finish is considered a loss.

Milestone 81 Hextech Key, 1 Masterwork Chest
Milestone 9Worlds 2021 Loot Orb, 10 Prestige Points
Milestone 101 Gemstone, 10 Prestige Points

Compared to the regular events that run in League of Legends throughout the year, this set of milestone missions gives double the prestige points and double the loot orbs.

The Worlds 2021 Loot Orbs rewarded in Milestone 6 and Milestone 9 are the same as the four bonus orbs that come with purchasing the event pass. Each of these loot orbs contains a random skin shard, with a small chance at a gemstone, mythic skin or the Worlds Peak Performance Bag.

The Worlds Peak Performance Bag is a bonus grab bag that drops at a 3.5% chance and contains additional skin shards.

Worlds 2021 Weekly Win missions guide

The biggest chunk of tokens available in this event comes with the weekly win missions.

Once again, as compared to previous battle pass events, the LoL Worlds 2021 pass has an increase in value here. Players unlocking the pass for this event will receive access to six Weekly Win missions instead of the usual four.

The first of these missions is activated instantly upon unlocking the pass. The remaining missions unlock periodically throughout the event.

Weekly win missions use the exact same activity points system as the milestone missions listed above. This means that a win in any matchmade game or a top four finish in Teamfight Tactics rewards 5 points. Any matchmade loss or bottom four finish in TFT rewards 2 points.

While weekly win missions take longer to complete than any other mission, they don’t expire until the end of the event.

MissionRewardActivation Date

Week 2 | Score 40 Points200 tokensSep. 30, 4:00 PM ET

Week 5 | Score 40 Points200 tokensOct. 21, 4:00 PM ET
Week 6 | Score 40 Points200 tokensOct. 28, 4:00 PM ET

Even though weekly missions and milestones use the same points system, they can be worked on at the same time. This usually means that if a player is active throughout the month, they’ll complete their weeklies alongside their milestone missions without any additional effort required.
