For what has been an incredibly busy and active event, it’s about to get just a little crazier. Toronto Maple Leafs superstar-in-the-making, #16 Mitch Marner is expected to appear at EGLX on its final day. The speedy winger will have some support, as three lucky event-goers will get a chance to play alongside Marner in a game of Fortnite. This event will take place from roughly 2:00 PM – 2:30 PM EDT on the Bell Fibe Stage in Hall D.

At 2:30 PM, Marner will make his way to Room 706 (one level above the show floor) for a meet and greet. This meet and greet will be open exclusively for those that purchased the “Mitch Marner Premium Package” and will not be accessible for those with just regular admission. Visit the EGLX tickets page to purchase a qualifying pass.

Marner, a native of Markham, ON, is in his third full season with the Maple Leafs. Having been drafted 4th overall in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft, he broke out as a freshman as part of the same historic class that introduced the league to fellow rookie superstars Auston Matthews and William Nylander. He followed up his debut campaign by leading all Leafs players in overall scoring with 69 points during the 2017-18 season. He has most recently found success on the same line as the team’s newest big gun, superstar free agent and GTA native himself, John Tavares.

More on EGLX

This is the third EGLX event (Enthusiast Gaming Live Expo) and the second of 2018. The previous edition took place in March and saw a turn-out of more than 20,000 attendees. The current event is already looking to surpass that number, with video game fans from all walks of life filling up the Metro Toronto Convention Centre in downtown Toronto.

The expo has already received plenty of media coverage, including several stories that we’ve covered for you here at Daily Esports. For those that haven’t been plugged in, the brand-new Toronto Defiant Overwatch team unveiled its name and logo in the lead-up to EGLX earlier this week. On Saturday, the team took to the main stage at the event to reveal the first two players on its Overwatch League roster.
