VCS’s Phong Vũ Buffalo ended up winning against TCL’s 1907 Fenerbahçe Esports. They will go on to the Play-In Knockout Stage to face North American esports organization Team Liquid in a best-of-five. Team Liquid is considered by many to be the favorite in this matchup because of its past success and a new roster as well.

Team Liquid has won three consistent first place finishes in the LCS since 2018’s Spring Split. However, in the 2018 Mid-Season Invitational, Team Liquid placed fifth with 4 wins and 6 losses. This was because they lost to Fnatic for the 4th place tiebreaker. In the end, Royal Never Give Up took first, Flash Wolves took second, and KING-ZONE DragonX took third. This year the roster includes the addition of prior World Championship winners and import players, Impact and CoreJJ. With the team’s vast experience, many of their players are looking forward to proving themselves this year at MSI.
Nicolaj “Jensen” Jensen, a mid laner for Team Liquid, had this to say for the upcoming match: “I think I’ve always played pretty good internationally so I’m just looking forward to show that NA can be dominant again.”
Phong Vũ Buffalo will play against Team Liquid on May 6 at 1:00 a.m. PDT / 10:00 a.m. CEST. Which team do you think will emerge victoriously? Keep up with all of the latest League of Legends news and content on Daily Esports!
