Riot Games has announced that PENTAKILL, its virtual heavy metal band, will not only perform but debut a preview of their new song at the 2021 LCS Mid-Season Showdown finals. After over three years, PENTAKILL will make a grand return to the stage on Sunday, April 11 at 4 p.m. ET. To make the finals even more spectacular the metal band, will kick things off with an exciting performance at the historic Greek Theatre in Los Angeles.

PENTAKILL’s show at the Greek Theatre will reintroduce the band into the League community. This will also be their first performance since their 2017 chart-topping album titled “II: Grasp of the Undying”. PENTAKILL is one of League’s beloved bands and comprises in-game champions Mordekaiser, Yorick, Sona, Kayle, Karthus and Olaf.

Furthermore, the exclusive preview of their upcoming song comes with a concept specifically made for the Mid-Season Showdown. PENTAKILL’s newest song will be released at a later date in 2021. The performance will be in person featuring Norweigian lead vocalist, Jorn Lande. Fans must tune in on Twitch or Youtube from 3 p.m. ET to watch the entire countdown ceremony.

PENTAKILL and Jackson Collaboration.

Moreover, PENTAKILL’s performance will be among the opening ceremony of the Mid-Season Showdown presented by Mastercard. The band will show viewers an exclusive preview of their upcoming song. After this, PENTAKILL’s global collaboration with Jackson, a guitar partner will be revealed.

On this collaboration, Riot Games said: “Jackson and PENTAKILL will embark on a bespoke and never before seen global collaboration throughout the rest of the year, with unique activations that showcase their instruments’ powerful performance and distinctive style.”

In addition, Jackson is officially the first guitar partner of the LCS. The guitar brand’s involvement with the LCS  transcends beyond the Mid-Season Showdown. There will be more details on the collaborations later this year.  The LCS Mid-Season Showdown final sees the return to LAN play and the winner of this event will represent North America in the Mid-Season Invitational.
