Big Reveals

  • Force of Vigor: After the reveal of Force of Negation yesterday, this card confirmed that we would be getting a Force of Will-style cycle in Modern Horizons! At instant speed, this card can free you from Chalices or Blood Moons for no mana.
  • Morophon, the Boundless: This is one of the two mythics we got today, and the first ever five-color changeling commander! Sure to be a hit in EDH circles, this card is going to make a statement quickly.
  • Prismatic Vista: The first-ever “budget” fetch land that fetches basic lands untapped! Printed at rare, it’s the fanciest version of Evolving Wilds yet.
  • Seasoned Pyromancer: The grown-up version of Young Pyromancer, we got a powerful red mythic to spice things up.

Additional Modern Horizons spoilers

Along with the four major spoilers covered above, we saw eight other cards revealed through various outlets today:

Diabolic Edict Exclude, Modern Horizons Fact or Fiction | MTG Modern Horizons spoilers Ice-Fang Coatl Munitions Expert Exclude, Modern Horizons Abominable Treefolk, Modern Horizons Fists of Flame, Modern Horizons

Two of the most exciting cards here are Fact or Fiction and Ice-Fang Coatl. Fact or Fiction is a very solid card for control decks that would like to hold up Cryptic Command. If you don’t have to cast Cryptic, you can cast Fact or Fiction instead to dig five cards deep into your library and choose the ones you want. No matter how your opponent splits the cards, they’re in a lose-lose situation.

Ice-Fang Coatl is almost a non-artifact Baleful Strix. Depending on how much snow support we get, we could see it really take off in the format.

Flusterstorm Buy-a-Box Promo

The Modern Horizons Buy-a-Box promo card has also been revealed, and it is Flusterstorm. Learn all about Buy-a-Box promos, Flusterstorm, and how to use the card in our full write-up.

Changes to Pauper format

In addition to all the juicy Modern Horizons spoilers, we also got a banned and restricted announcement today from Wizards of the Coast. In it, the Pauper format saw bans for Gitaxian Probe, Gush, and Daze.

Stay tuned!
