Modern Warfare update is now live, introduces Crossbow and loadout slots

A new title update, version 1.13, has gone live in Modern Warfare, bringing the Crossbow and five extra loadout slots, among other things. Infinity Ward has stated that some items, such as the slide cancel, will be left out of this update. Instead, those aspects will be pushed to a later patch, though it’s unclear when.

Still, today’s update provides Modern Warfare with some much-anticipated content and additional bug fixes. Though not for certain, this could be the last big update we see from Infinity Ward until Season Two releases on Feb. 11.

Patch notes for Modern Warfare update 1.13

Title update 1.13’s download size is 48 GB on PC, 13 GB on PS4, and 18 GB on Xbox One. We’re not entirely sure why the PC version is so large compared to consoles, though some have speculated this is in preparation for the battle royale mode.

Unlike previous updates, the community knows some of what’s coming to Modern Warfare. Infinity Ward is attempting to improve their communication, so they gave us some insight as to what would release last week. As such, fixes like player collision and improvements to the kill feed were already known.

That said, there are still some unknown aspects of patch 1.13 that we didn’t know. We won’t list the entire patch notes here, as you can Infinity Ward’s website to see every last detail. Instead, let’s cover the major parts of the update, which starts with the Crossbow.

Like other DLC weapons in Modern Warfare, the Crossbow is free to earn. There is a challenge associated with it, which is to “Use a Marksman Rifle with a Reflex Optic, and get 5 kills in 25 different matches!” While not an easy task by any means, players should be able to complete this with enough time.

In terms of maps and playlists, Shoot the Ship and Capture the Flag are being added to the playlist menu. Also, Aniyah Palace is back in Ground War while Krovnik Farmland is removed due to bugs.

For competitive fans, Infinity Ward has removed the headshot multiplier in CDL modes. So, torso and headshots now deal the same amount of damage, which is a great change. Infinity Ward has also decreased the charge time for Dead Silence.

Those are the major parts of this update! Make sure to keep up with Daily Esports for all Modern Warfare coverage.
