mousesports defeat ENCE to lift the trophy at CSGO Asia Championships

ENCE have lost the final to mousesports at CSGO Asia Championships 2019 in Shanghai, China. The two European lineups came into the tournament as the favorites given their record and rosters. However, mousesports had a more difficult path to the final after qualifying to the playoffs from second place, putting them in the quarter-finals. ENCE qualified from the first spot, sending the team straight to the semi-finals. This did not stop mousesports from lifting the trophy in Shanghai.

The two teams met before at the Group Play in Group B of the tournament, which also featured AVANGAR and ViCi. ENCE beat mousesports 2-1, sending the Finnish team straight to the semi-finals.

The teams then met again in the final of the event. Being a best-of-three match, only two maps were required to close things out: Train and then Inferno.

Train ended at 16-10 (9-6 at the half), with a solid counter-terrorist half from mousesports followed by a blowout terrorist side. The European mix had already gained an advantage following that moment, as ENCE had picked Train, putting them in an uncomfortable situation moving onto Inferno.

On Inferno, ENCE got off to a quick 5-0 start on their ct-side before mouesports responded with a string of eight rounds to close the half at 8-7. After side switch, ENCE replicated the start of the half with a four-round advantage right off the bat on t-side. However, mousesports would yet again string rounds together. This time, however, they closed out the game and match, putting an end to the tournament at 16-11 and a 2-0 victory over ENCE at CSGO Asia Championships in Shanghai.

David “frozen” Čerňanský along with Özgür “woxic” Eker were both the highest-rated players on both maps in the final. Also, the victory is their first-ever on a highly rated CSGO LAN such as this.  When it comes to overall performance, however, woxic has clinched the MVP of the tournament. This is the Turk’s first-ever MVP award.
