Mousesports had crowds cheering as they took home their first tier-one CS:GO championship. Dominating the game against popular team Fnatic, they swept them 3-0 and celebrated their victory. The ESL Pro League Season 10 grand finals added to their legacy of victories, as they also earned a spot at IEM Katowice 2020. Coupled with becoming the fifth team to earn a point for the Intel Grand Slam column, they’re going home excited for what’s to come next.

Working their way up
Winning the EPL grand finals didn’t come easy. Mousesports, who are currently number 9 in the CS:GO ranking, worked their way up from quarterfinals in last year’s ESC. As they came up short in StarSeries for season 5, they had to prove to themselves that they’re just as good as the top teams out there.
Winning against the top CS:GO teams left everyone with jaws to the floor as they were fired up throughout every game. Eliminating Renegades, ATK, Evil Geniuses, and Astralis was a result of playing aggressively and confidently. The international team led by Finn “Karrigan” Anderson was able to defeat Astralis yesterday 2-1 as they looked forward to today’s Fnatic game. At the end of the series, we looked at how boldly they took over the best-of-five series with each map going as far as 27 rounds.
Keep on pushing through
Strategy always works best, and Fnatic just happened to slip up while playing against their competitor. Fnatic’s rifler Ludvig “Brollan” Brolin took over their game with a +13 kill-to-death differential. His 98.3 average damage per round was still not enough to help Fnatic win against Mousesports. Going against Estonian player Robin “Ropz” Kool and Slovakian player David “Frozen” Čerňanský was a struggle for Fnatic. Ropz ended the series with an impressive 74 kills and 45 deaths. As Mousesports fought for first place, Karrigan pulled an ace on Train, marking the start to an incredible victory.

Sportsmanship
Fnatic’s performance disappointed many fans as they congratulated Mousesports on Twitter. Mousesports won Inferno 16-11, Train 16-10 and Mirage 16-11. As Fnatic graciously take their loss, they have plenty to learn from this remarkable series.

A victory like this is always well-compensated; take a look at the prize pool for the winners:

- Fanatic – $80,000
- Astralis – $40,000
- Natus Vincere – $40,000
- Team Liquid – $20,000
The victorious team can’t relax yet, though. Mousesports has a handful of upcoming events next week, including the CS Summit 5 in Los Angeles. They will also be a part of EPICENTER 2019 in Moscow, Russia. The CS:GO community will expect them to continue this momentum and compete with the top spot in Katowice 2019.
