Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CSGO) team Mythic has moved Donovan “zNf” Froid into a starting position on the roster. ZNf acted as a stand-in for David “DAVEY” Stafford, who was initially set to start for MDL season 33. Over the past few weeks, DAVEY was unable to play with the team due to traveling.

ZNf has been competing with Mythic over the last few weeks and has played an integral role in the team’s success. They’re currently 2-0 in MDL, qualified for ESL One Rio’s closed qualifier, and were invited to FLASHPOINT‘s closed qualifier. Despite their lackluster FLASHPOINT run, their overall performance with zNf indicates the potential for the team to improve as they practice.

Our sources in Mythic’s organization told Daily Esports, “Under the circumstances, DAVEY is now going to be our sixth man. ZNf will be on the main roster.” It’s a reasonable move on the part of Mythic to move forward with zNf. Not only has he competed in every single match the organization has participated in recently, but he’s also been scrimming with Mythic. It would be a difficult transition to play with DAVEY after building synergy with zNf.

ZNf’s history

ZNf has been a high-level CSGO player for quite some time. He’s actively competed in ESEA since season 10. Seasons 19-21, he played in the premier division. Since season 28, however, he’s consistently played in MDL. Furthermore, this isn’t the first time zNf has played with Mythic. According to his ESEA history, he played five matches with the group in season 31.

ZNf had a long stint on Vireo.pro, currently known as Team Divine. He played three seasons of MDL with the squad. Together they made MDL playoffs season 28, qualified for WESG 2018 regional finals, placed fourth at Fragadelphia 12, and participated in six qualifiers.

Looking forward, Mythic faces Big Frames Feb. 19 in a best-of-one ESEA match. Additionally, the squad is preparing for the upcoming ESL One Rio 2020 closed qualifier taking place on March 6 -8.

Mythic’s current starting roster is Erik “fl0m” Flom, Adam “Polen” Polen, Kaitlin “Keiti” Boop, Corbin “C0m” Lee, and zNf.
