Edgard “n0ne” Sheleby has joined UYU as the organization’s first competitive Super Smash Bros. Melee player. He is the third in a string of top Melee players to get a sponsorship this month. Previously, Zain Naghmi joined Golden Guardians and Shephard “Fiction” Lima joined Poilon Software.
UYU announced its partnership with n0ne in a tweet today. Shortly afterwards, n0ne sported his new sponsor’s gear on stream at Smash Summit 9. Previously, he had gone over a year without a sponsor, since Team Allegiance shut its doors in January 2019. Now, he will undoubtedly be able to increase his attendance compared to last year.

UYU already has a particularly adept roster of fighting game players. The organization sponsors players in games like Tekken 7 and Street Fighter V. In addition, UYU has teams in Apex Legends and Call of Duty and sponsors multiple streamers, according to its website.

UYU’s n0ne has a history as one of Melee’s biggest fan-favorite players. Born in Nicaragua and currently living in Canada, he has not had the easiest opportunities to rise up Melee’s ranks. However, he has done just that ever since he debuted in the top 100 at No. 58 in 2015.
Since 2016, n0ne has been a mainstay in Super Smash Bros. Melee’s top 20. However, the loss of his partnership with Allegiance precipitated a decrease in attendance, and consequently a lack of solid results. Because of this, n0ne dipped down to No. 29 on last summer’s rankings, his lowest placement since 2015.
However, n0ne turned things around completely in the second half of the year. During this period, he defeated players like Joseph “Mang0” Marquez, Justin “Wizzrobe” Hallett, Cody “iBDW” Schwab, and Johnny “S2J” Kim. As a result, n0ne finished 2019 as No. 15 in the world, his highest ranking to date.
On top of his impressive results in tournaments, n0ne has established himself as a popular streamer. He is one of the most-watched individual Melee streamers on Twitch, second only to Mang0. As a member of UYU’s competitive team, n0ne has the potential to push his stock even higher.
