Nadeshot accidentally leaks Chicago Call of Duty team name on stream

During a Twitch stream, 100 Thieves owner and former professional player Matthew “Nadeshot” Haag accidentally leaked the Chicago Call of Duty franchise’s team name — the Huntsmen. While in a call with former teammates Seth “Scump” Abner and Matthew “FormaL” Piper, Nadeshot joked around about coming back to compete for the Chicago franchise.

“Oh, oh, oh, we bringing the team back or what? I feel like I can be like a sub for the Huntsmen,” said Nadeshot while on stream. This led to a moment of awkward silence, where Nadeshot realized he had just leaked the unannounced name. Scump tried to play it off by responding, “The what?”

However, Scump and FormaL ended up laughing about it, with Nadeshot facepalming at his mistake in the background. Scump replied, “Oh my god, I’m texting Hector,” referring to Hector “H3CZ” Rodriguez, the co-Chief Executive Officer of NRG Esports. NRG Esports is the parent organization that owns the Chicago Call of Duty franchise slot.

Chicago Call of Duty recently announced their 2020 Call of Duty League roster in a video titled, “The Final Goodbye.” The video starts with H3CZ’s journey from OpTic Gaming to his current position as NRG Esports co-CEO, with a final frame showing off the five players: Seth “Scump” Abner, Matt “FormaL” Piper, Alec “Arcitys” Sanderson, Pierce “Gunless” Hillman, and Dylan “Envoy” Hannon.

Chicago Huntsmen franchise

While Nadeshot did confirm the Chicago Call of Duty franchise’s team name on stream, the team names had already been leaked beforehand. Twitter users posted screenshots of the website’s source code in early October, showcasing a mistake by Activision. Some users had doubted these leaks because organizations could easily change their names. However, recent Call of Duty franchise reveals have confirmed the authenticity of the team name leaks.

This does subdue the hype for fans waiting to find out this information about Chicago Call of Duty officially. However, Nadeshot and H3CZ are good friends. What franchise are you rooting for in the 2020 CDL? Let us know in the comments and keep up with Daily Esports for all Call of Duty coverage!
