Nadeshot will not participate in the Black Ops Cold War Alpha

100 Thieves CEO Matthew “Nadeshot” Haag will not be playing in the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Alpha. On September 9, Treyarch and Activision released a multiplayer reveal on Twitter for the upcoming Call of Duty title. Multiple professional players and content creators have already been testing out the game since the beginning of the week.

For the multiplayer reveal, big content creators like Nick “NICKMERCS” Kolcheff, Timothy “timthetatman” Betar, and Mason “Symfuhny” Lanier could play the game on stream. Even 100 Thieves content creators Jack “Courage” Dunlop and Noahj465 were able to show the game off from their perspective. But where is Nadeshot? Nadeshot recently came back from vacation to a fully revamped stream. He updated his starting video as well as the graphic overlays on his stream. Since COVID-19, he has been grinding Warzone for multiple hours a day, several times a week. With an average of about 10,000 viewers, viewers see him as one of the more consistent CoD streamers.

Nadeshot left out of Black Ops Cold War alpha

When the reveal ended and creators could start playing the game, Nadeshot was nowhere to be found. It wasn’t until an hour after the event that Nadeshot tweeted out about his exclusion from the Black Ops Cold War beta. While it’s strange that a big name in Call of Duty like Nadeshot wasn’t included, this wasn’t the first time Activision has blocked him.

Just a few months ago, 100 Thieves’ charity Warzone tournament for Black Lives Matter was canceled by Activision. This was due to a conflict of sponsors for the event stemmed from Cash App, who is 100 Thieves’ biggest contributor. Nadeshot also didn’t receive a creator code when Activision announced them for Warzone. These factors have made observers wonder if Activision is treating Nadeshot poorly due to his refusal of the CDL. He recently spoke about the treatment from Activision on a recent Courage and Nadeshot Show podcast. He considered the fact that he spoke negatively of Activision on stream and Twitter could be a contributing factor.
