NAF re-signs with Team Liquid until 2024

This re-signing keeps NAF's almost four year loyalty for a couple years longer

Team Liquid have re-signed Canadian rifler and AWPer Keith “NAF” Markovic, keeping his skills on their Counter-Strike: Global Offensive team until 2024 he announced Sunday. After joining Team Liquid back in early 2018, he will continue his career with the squad.

NAF’s path to re-signing

NAF’s competitive CS:GO career started back in late 2012, playing for old CS:GO teams such as mouseSpaz, Denial Esports and LunatiK Esports. In 2015, he played for five different teams, including a short stint on Team Liquid, ending on OpTic Gaming at the start of 2016. During his year and eight months with OpTic, his best finish was in the second season of the ELEAGUE, winning it all in late 2016, beating Astralis in the final.

After some early knockout finishes afterwards, NAF made the move to Renegades in late 2017. After winning two offline tournaments with Renegades, much like his time with OpTic, the results diminished. However, Team Liquid added him onto their roster in early 2018. This ended up sparking the TL roster almost immediately, as their first tournament after signing him was a first-place finish at cs_summit 2. The highlights of his time with TL include their 2019 year, winning five major tournaments in that time. The team hasn’t hit the high of that year since.

Team Liquid’s future

Ever since former IGL Nicholas “nitr0” Cannella retired from Counter-Strike, their results haven’t been as consistent as their heyday. The team competes and still retains a lot of the talent they had, but changes have led to some disappointing performances.

NAF’s re-signing comes just days after a report by 1pv.fr that said the player might not have been a part of the organization’s plans for the future. Nitr0 is also thinking of returning back to the CS organization as first reported by Upcomer and confirmed by 1pv.fr. Regardless of how the offseason moves go, NAF seems to still be a part of the team’s future plans.
