NBA 2K League Week Three Power Rankings: Questions to answer

The NBA 2K League followed its buzzworthy week one of the regular season with great games, no fights, and a groundbreaking moment in week two. Fans were treated to some major upsets according to the power rankings and the preseason’s top teams showing great form. Viewers saw which teams are legitimate contenders and which teams may have just gotten lucky early in the season.

After two weeks of competition, four teams have an unblemished record. Pacers Gaming and Mavs Gaming sit atop the standings at 3-0. NetsGC is right behind at 2-0, while 76ers GC remains undefeated after being off in week two.

Week three provides plenty of answers NBA 2K League fans may be looking for after early season games. The first game of the week, Knicks Gaming versus Magic Gaming, pits two teams against each other looking for their first win. Knicks Gaming are the defending champions, while Magic Gaming attempt to replicate their success from the Tipoff tournament. The two sides kick off week three on Wednesday at 6 p.m. EST. A total of 14 games are slated for this week.

NBA 2K League Power Rankings

Many of the top 10 teams in the power rankings had off in week two, but that does not mean there was no movement. Blazer5 Gaming finally played up to its hype and moved up the board. Cavs Legion GC struggled in a week where it had a chance to make a statement.

1. 76er GC (0-0 in week two, 1-0 overall)

There were no games last week for 76ers GC. The good news is Ethan “Radiant” White now leads the league in scoring with 28 points per game.

2. Pacers Gaming (2-0, 3-0)

It was not the cleanest of weeks for Pacers Gaming last week, but the Indiana crew came away with a 2-0 week. Pacers Gaming has four different players that can take over a game at any moment. Fans of Pacers Gaming may be asking for someone to step up into a leadership role if things get challenging. For now, it is all good in Indiana.

3. Bucks Gaming (1-1, 3-1)

Talk about a polarizing week. Bucks Gaming could not get things done against a struggling Pistons GT team, losing by eight points. Was it a wake-up call for the Milwaukee squad? It sure looked like it since Bucks Gaming came out the next day and dismantled a Heat Check Gaming team that was playing like a top-five team. One thing became clear — Bucks Gaming’s performances are heavily reliant on Aaron “Arooks” Rookwood hitting threes.

4. Heat Check Gaming (1-1, 2-1)

NBA 2K League viewers have seen better performances from Heat Check Gaming than what they showed last week. In what was touted as the game of the week, Heat Check did not show up against Bucks Gaming. The Miami team followed by pulling out a small win over Wizards District Gaming, 62-56. Fans will be looking for more from one of the top teams in the league in the upcoming weeks.

5. Blazer5 Gaming (2-0, 2-1)

Welcome to the 2019 regular season Blazer5 Gaming! One of the most hyped (and underperforming) teams heading into the season showed up in week two. Double-digit wins over Warriors Gaming Squad and Lakers Gaming allowed viewers to see how good Blazer5 can be. Dayne “OneWildWalnut” Downey earned the Player of The Week for his week two performances.

6. Warriors Gaming Squad (1-1, 2-1)

Warriors Gaming Squad’s Chiquita “Chiquita” Evans made history last week by becoming the first female to compete on the NBA 2K League stage. The historic week saw Warriors Gaming Squad go 1-1. An impressive win over Cavs Legion GC last week has fans excited about the potential of this team.

7. T-Wolves Gaming (0-0, 1-1)

Off last week, but there are two big games upcoming for the T-Wolves Gaming squad this week to prove they belong in the top half of the league.

8. Celtics Crossover Gaming (0-0, 0-1)

The team from Boston will be without Albano “oFab” Thomallari for its first game of the week versus 76ers GC. Thomallari was suspended for the week one altercation versus Hawks Talon GC.

9. NetsGC (0-0, 2-0)

The expansion team has impressed so far this season. Fans have Friday’s game versus Blazer5 Gaming to see what this NetsGC team can do.

10. Mavs Gaming (2-0, 3-0)

Even though Mavs Gaming is 3-0, its wins have not been that impressive. All three wins came against below average teams and by single digits. It is relieving for Mavs Gaming to see Artreyo “Dimez” Boyd consistently making plays on offense.

11. Magic Gaming (0-0, 0-2)
12. Knicks Gaming (0-0, 0-1)
13. Hawks Talon GC (1-1, 2-1)
14. Cavs Legion GC (0-2, 2-2)
15. Jazz Gaming (1-1, 1-2)
16. Raptors Uprising GC (0-0, 0-2)
17. Pistons GT (1-1, 1-2)
18. Kings Guard Gaming (1-1, 2-2)
19. Lakers Gaming (1-1, 1-2)
20. Wizards District Gaming (0-2, 0-3)
21. Grizz Gaming (0-2, 0-3)

Stay tuned for more power rankings, and let us know if you have some strong opinions about them!
