Pokémon GO developer Niantic revealed important information on Tuesday about the new cup formats, rewards and themes for the upcoming GO Battle League Season 7, beginning on March 1.

To start, ratings from the GO Battle League Season 6 will reset and all players will begin their climb from rank one. Season 7 will also feature rewards and Pokémon encounters themed around Elesa, the Electric-type gym leader in Pokémon Black and White who is notable for using Zebstrika.

Players who reach rank 10 in Season 7 will earn the Pikachu Libre avatar items and players who reach the legend rank will earn special Elesa-themed avatar items. Reaching rank 19 will earn players an Elite Charged TM and an Elite Fast TM. Reaching Rank 20 will guarantee an encounter with the Legendary Pokémon appearing in five-star raids at the time.

Pokémon GO Battle League Season 7 encounters and schedule

The GO Battle League Season 7rewards will also feature different Pokémon encounters at different ranks. Here are the following encounters players can earn:

  • Rank 1: Zebstrika, Elesa’s partner Pokémon
  • Rank 1 and up: Poliwhirl, Flaaffy, Pupitar, Galvantula, and more.
  • Rank 10 and up: Medicham, Frillish, Stunfisk, and more.
  • Rank 15 and up: Scraggy, Lampent, and Rufflet.
  • Ace rank and up: Deino
  • Legend rank: Pikachu Libre

The schedule for Pokémon GO Battle League Season 7 is as follows:

  • The Great League will run from Monday, March 1 at 1:00 p.m. PST (GMT −8) to Monday, March 15 at 1:00 p.m. PDT (GMT −7).
  • The Ultra League and its Premier Cup will run from Monday, March 15 at 1:00 p.m. to Monday, March 29 at 1:00 p.m. PDT (GMT −7).
  • The Master League, Master League Classic, and the Great League will run from Monday, March 29 at 1:00 p.m. to Monday, April 5 at 1:00 p.m. PDT (GMT −7). Only Pokémon that haven’t been powered up with Candy XL are allowed in Master League Classic.
  • All three leagues will run from Monday, April 5 at 1:00 p.m. to Monday, April 12 at 1:00 p.m. PDT (GMT −7).
  • The Great League and a new cup called Great League Remix will run from Monday, April 12 at 1:00 p.m. to Monday, April 26 at 1:00 p.m. PDT (GMT −7). See the Cups section below for more details.
  • The Ultra League and its Premier Cup will run from Monday, April 26 at 1:00 p.m. to Monday, May 10 at 1:00 p.m. PDT (GMT −7).
  • The Master League, Master League Classic, and the Retro Cup will run from Monday, May 10 at 1:00 p.m. to Monday, May 17 at 1:00 p.m. PDT (GMT −7). Only Pokémon that haven’t been powered up with Candy XL are allowed in Master League Classic. See the Cups section below for more details.
  • All three leagues will run from Monday, May 17 at 1:00 p.m. to Monday, May 24 at 1:00 p.m. PDT (GMT −7).
  • Ranked play will end on Monday, May 24 at 1:00 p.m. PDT (GMT −7).
  • An unranked Kanto Cup will run from Monday, May 24 at 1:00 p.m. to Monday, May 31 at 1:00 p.m. PDT (GMT −7). See the Cups section below for more details.
