When Call of Duty: Modern Warfare was officially announced, Activision promised to deliver a game-changing title. It’s no secret that these previous installments feel meshed together due to their similarities and subpar gameplay. Well, from what we’ve seen so far, Activision seems ready to deliver on that promise. Modern Warfare looks like it is just the refreshing breath of air the Call of Duty series needs. From a thrilling and vibrant Campaign to revitalized Multiplayer items, the game seems to be on the right track.
However, even with all of this, it doesn’t look like developer Infinity Ward is done innovating quite yet. According to sources, Modern Warfare is putting a whole other spin on how we play multiplayer this year.
Night maps and Night Vision in Modern Warfare?
Infinity Ward has previously confirmed the use of night vision in Modern Warfare. However, they were strictly talking about Campaign when they said that. Supposedly, there will be some usage of night vision within the multiplayer as well.
Of course, the only use for night vision in multiplayer would be to see in the dark. The thing is, traditionally, most maps in Call of Duty have a daytime setting. While this will remain true for Modern Warfare, according to a source, there will also be a number of night versions of the original maps.
TheGamingRevolution is a reputable Call of Duty leaker who has been feeding the community tons of leaks regarding Modern Warfare multiplayer. He has let us know about a ton of different items within multiplayer. Now, he’s claiming there will be night maps in the rotation.
In recent years, Call of Duty hasn’t made much use of nighttime maps. Even in the past, only a handful launched with each game. Infinity Ward obviously feels that there is a bigger use for night maps.
How will Night Vision work in multiplayer?
According to TheGamingRevolution, these night version maps will be in the regular map rotation. These will work the same as the regular maps, but they won’t have much natural lighting from lamps, candles, bulbs, etc. This is where the night vision comes in.
In order to see around the map, players must utilize night vision. This will make the player’s screen a shade of black and green, like seen in the image above. However, night vision will also change how the player shoots their gun and traverses the map.
While using night vision, the player cannot aim down sights, only hip-firing with a laser sight. There will be some power switches around the map that the player can turn on, though, enabling them to take off their night vision goggles and play normally.
We still don’t have every detail regarding this alleged new mechanic. Daily Esports will be sure to update you with any news on this story!
