North, G2 top Group A in a three-way tie, qualify for ESL Pro League finals

Group A of European qualifiers for ESL Pro League Season 10 Finals has come to an end with G2 and North making it out alive. The two CSGO teams have made it to the finals following a three-way tie with NiP in points. ESL has resolved the tie by resorting to map difference, which put G2 and North in the finals of the elusive event.

G2 show some grit

Initially losing the first match against NiP, things were looking bleak for the French side. Kenny “kennyS” Schrub’s side would bounce back quickly by getting swift wins first over North and then over BIG, both resulting in 2-0 wins in the best-of-three matchups. Nemanja “huNter-” Kovač, the new addition to the squad (cousin of Niko “NiKo” Kovač), seems to be feeling right at home in the G2 lineup as his performance in the last two wins was groundbreaking for his side. His ace to close out the match sums up his phenomenal performance.

North clutch the deciding match

After overcoming BIG 2-1 in their first match, the Danes were in trouble when they fell big time to G2 with a 0-2 score. The last team remaining to face was NiP. As things stood, North had to secure a 2-0 victory over the Swedes to secure a spot at ESL Pro League Finals.

The first map, Overpass, was a tooth-and-nail battle that went to double overtime before North secured the map. At that point NiP must have been furious that they failed to close out their opponent’s map pick. However, Nuke ended up being an utter disaster for the Swedish side as they got dismantled 16-5, leading to North pulling off an incredible clutch to advance to ESL Pro League Finals as the second team, just under G2. The duo of Philip “aizy” Aistrup and Markus “Kjaerbye” Kjærbye had the most impact for the Danish side.

To round out the European qualifiers of ESL Pro League Season 10 Finals, group B remains with juggernauts including FaZe Clan, Fnatic, HellRaisers, and Vitality. Only two teams will make it out alive to play at the finals of the event.
