It’s almost Overwatch‘s fourth anniversary, and the Overwatch anniversary event is now live! Here are some of the new cosmetics and game modes, and what you can do during the three-week-long event.

New skins, sprays, and other cosmetics

As with every Overwatch event, there are a plethora of new skins, sprays, emotes, highlight intros, voice lines, and victory poses to collect. While most of these can be purchased with credits or found in special event loot boxes earned from leveling up, there are several that you must earn from playing.

You can earn a special spray, icon, and skin for each of the following Heroes by winning matchmade Overwatch games during the three weeks of the event.

  • Week 1: Carbon Fiber Sigma
  • Week 2: Fleur De Lis Widowmaker
  • Week 3: Masked Man McCree

Winning three games will earn you a player icon for the skin. Winning six games will earn you the spray. Finally, winning nine games will earn you the skin itself. These skins will not be available in loot boxes or for purchase.

Competitive Deathmatch returns

Competitive free-for-all deathmatch is back in the arcade. The rules are the same as standard deathmatch, except you will earn competitive points and you will gain and lose Skill Rating for winning or losing. Finishing in the top four will raise your Skill Rating while finishing in the bottom four will drop it.

In addition to competitive deathmatch, other past Overwatch game modes will rotate on a daily and weekly basis in the arcade during the event. You can earn loot boxes and work towards your weekly wins in the arcade.

Finally, every single skin will be available to purchase with in-game credits during the event. So, if you missed out on a Holloween or Christmas event skin, now is the time to get it! Be sure to check out the event before it ends on June 9.
