“Paseriman” won Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Singles at Sumabato SP 11 in Osaka, Kansai, Japan on Dec. 28. It was his first tournament victory since the Toryumon Kiwami #4 local in January. As a B-tier event for the Spring 2020 PGRU season, it was also Paseriman’s best victory to date.

Paseriman finished first in his pool at Sumabato SP 11, ahead of “Shirayuki,” “Compact,” and “Missi.” In bracket, he scored wins over “Oisiitofu” and “Injelly,” who finished ahead of Shuto “Shuton” Moriya in pools. Paseriman then defeated “Somé” to secure a spot in top 16.

Paseriman’s run continued with a pair of wins over “Sigma” and Takuma “Tea” Hirooka. He then lost to Shuton in Winners Finals. However, Paseriman was able to bounce back, beating Tea again in Losers Finals and double eliminating Shuton in Grand Finals.

Previously, Paseriman had struggled to get high placings at notable Super Smash Bros. Japanese events. He placed 25th at Umebura SP 7, 49th at Umebura SP 6, and 65th at Umebura SP 5. However, with his performance at Sumabato SP 11, Paseriman has a strong start to the 2020 season under his belt.

After his loss to “Navy,” “takera” made a strong losers run to reach top 8 at Sumabato SP 11. This run included wins over Somé, Kengo “KEN” Suzuki, and Zackray. Kie made a similar run to 7th place, defeating players like Navy and Naru “Lunamado” Doma.
