Overwatch League franchise Philadelphia Fusion announced they have brought on former Seoul Dynasty coach Kim “KDG” Dong-gun as the team’s newest head coach for the 2020 Overwatch League season. In addition, former Fusion team manager Roston Yoo has been promoted to the Assistant General Manager position.

KDG as Head Coach
KDG most recently served as head coach for Overwatch League franchise Seoul Dynasty, with roles on 6nakes and Mosaic Esports beforehand. The Dynasty finished Season 2 of the Overwatch League in 8th place, and then placed 7 – 8th in the 2019 Overwatch League Playoffs after a loss to Hangzhou Spark. The addition of KDG comes after the previous co-head coaches Elliot “Hayes” Hayes and Sehwi “NamedHwi” Go departed in early October.
The Philadelphia Fusion placed 10th in the 2019 Regular Season, with an 11 – 12th placement in the Overwatch League Playoffs. While KDG didn’t manage to achieve what fans expected with the Dynasty roster, the team still performed better than the Fusion. The Fusion recently announced the departure of DPS player Josue “Eqo” Corona and support player Alberto “neptuNo” González.
Substitute players DPS Finley “Kyb” Adisi and Elijah “Elk” Gallagher also were released. Only hitscan DPS player Lee “Carpe” Jae-hyeok has been confirmed to have his contract extended. On the other hand, Kim “Sado” Su-Min and Simon “Snillo” Ekström are still free agents. The Fusion have until Nov. 15 to lock in an eight-player roster.

The Philadelphia Fusion will host three home stand events in 2020.
