The Philadelphia Fusion has named furniture company Herman Miller as its official gaming chair partner. The collaboration will see the Overwatch League franchise using the Embody Gaming Chair during both practice and competition.

Herman Miller enters gaming space

Tim Straker, Chief Marketing Officer at Herman Miller, commented in a release:

The gaming community has been using Herman Miller office chairs in their setups for years—but it was time we designed a product line just for them… After so many months of deep research and design, it’s extremely exciting to see our products being used by some of the best gamers out there—and that they love them.

The Herman Miller Embody Gaming Chair is the brand’s first gaming-oriented product. The chair features a patented PostureFit device that supports the spine at its lowest point and provides lumbar support. That’s something much needed for professional gamers that sit for several hours a day. Other features include a BackFit adjustment that maintains a balanced posture, an ergonomic design, and a conforming back that distributes weight evenly.

Philadelphia Fusion look to win it all

Tucker Roberts, President of Philadelphia Fusion, added:

The Fusion are always looking for new technology and best-in-class equipment to ensure our esports players stay at the top of their game, and our players couldn’t wait to get their hands on Herman Miller’s new gaming chair design. Our team spends multiple hours a day training and we knew we had to find the right chair partner to elevate our players’ comfort, health and performance.

The Philadelphia Fusion currently compete in Season 3 of the Overwatch League. The team sits at 2nd place in the world, with 24 wins and 2 losses. As the first seed for North America, the Fusion will proceed directly to the Playoffs Quarterfinals. Thirteen teams will clash in September to determine the top four teams, which will then compete for a $3.05 million prize pool.
