Promisq extends his contract with G2 Esports until end of 2019 season

As announced on the G2 Esports website, Hampus “promisq” Mikael Abrahamsson will stay with them for at least the remainder of the season. The League of Legends player has re-signed with G2 as their substitute support after playing two games in LEC spring. Although they lost both, these games didn’t matter much as G2 had already guaranteed themselves a playoff bye before that. Promisq also helped the team in scrims and during MSI, even though he didn’t play there. Furthermore, the team announced he will travel with them to Rift Rivals and Worlds 2019 later this year.

Following Mihael “Mikyx” Mehle’s wrist injury, promisq stepped in to play two regular season games and helped G2 finish the regular season. He also accompanied them to MSI, as Mikyx’s wrist issues still persisted. However, his injury got much better by the time MSI started. G2 surprised us all by winning the whole tournament, playing with their main LEC roster. Shortly after MSI, promisq’s contract expired, as he was seen as a temporary addition to the team at the time of his signing. G2 Esports seem to give him a lot of credit, calling his experience invaluable to the team’s success in the spring split and at MSI. Hence they decided to re-sign him.

Promisq’s career

Promisq is a League of Legends professional scene veteran who started his career back in 2015. The 25-year-old Swede first played for Elements, but he was replaced by the team’s coach after four weeks. After renaming to sprattel, he stayed with them until May 2016, when he signed with Schalke 04. Moving on, he spent half a year with Paris Saint-Germain, with not much success.

Promisq made his LEC return in 2017 when he joined the Ninjas in Pyjamas. Unfortunately, the team finished last in the regular season and got relegated. Schalke 04 ended up sweeping them in the 2018 EU LCS Spring Promotion finals. Before joining G2, promisq spent a year with H2k, but the team performed poorly, to say the least. He was a free agent in the 2019 season until G2 decided to sign him as a temporary substitution for Mikyx.
