In the video included with the announcement, Rambo highlights his aims as head coach and what he believes he can contribute to the team. Rambo describes himself when he was competing as being a player that out-thought the opponent rather than being more skillful, highlighting the importance of strategies and teamwork. Additionally, Rambo mentions helping the younger players on the Dallas Empire to maximize their potential. These include Anthony “Shotzzy” Cuevas- Castro and Indervir “iLLeY” Dhaliwal.

“My job here as head coach is to make sure the players are prepared as much as possible,” he said, “(that) they understand everything they’re trying to do as a team and accomplish on the maps and various game modes that we play.”

Also, Rambo worked for Sledgehammer Games, who has developed popular Call of Duty titles such as Call of Duty: WWII. It was unknown what path Rambo would take after he left Sledgehammer Games on Feb. 21. His involvement with Call of Duty and the competitive scene shows that Rambo has a clear understanding of the game. This could make him the perfect fit for his new role with the Dallas Empire.

Currently, the Dallas Empire are in seventh place on the leaderboard, with a total of 30 CDL points. The next Call of Duty Home Series that the Dallas Empire will attend takes place on March 7 to March 8 in Los Angeles. It will be interesting to see if the team can improve with Rambo as head coach at future events.
