Red Bull announced that they now patron Twitch superstar, Tyler “Ninja” Blevins. They have also announced a brand new competitive Fortnite event that will happen on July 21.

Ninja becomes the fifth player to join the Red Bull esports roster. He adds himself to the likes of Søren “Bjergsen” Bjerg, the midlaner for Team Solo Mid’s League of Legends team. Ninja chose to announce his partnership during a Twitch stream; he wore the same bandana that is in the announcement video.
Ninja recently was able to participate in the Fortnite Pro-Am, a huge celebrity charity tournament which was hosted by E3 this year. He and DJ Marshmello were able to win the whole tournament. People know Ninja as one of the best Fortnite players in the world, and the most popular streamers on Twitch.tv.
What is the Red Bull Rise Till Dawn tournament?
Additionally, a new, unique competitive Fortnite tournament is in the works.
The Red Bull Rise Till Dawn tournament will begin on July 21 at 8:21 PM, which is the time of sunset in Chicago. On the 99th floor of the Willis Tower in downtown Chicago, duo teams will battle it out until the sun rises over Lake Michigan at around 5:35 AM. Whichever team has the most points when the sun rises will be the winner.
“Competing and streaming Fortnite all night at the most iconic building in Chicago, a city close to my heart, is a dream come true. Red Bull Rise Till Dawn will be unlike any other tournament and something people need to see and experience for themselves.” Ninja said in a statement.
Teams earn points through end-of-game placement and player elimination; eliminating another player gains one point. Note that when players are able to gain first place at the end of a game, they win ten points. At the same time, if a duo is able to eliminate Ninja and his teammate, they will also gain ten points.
Duos that place first to fifth throughout the night will gain a certain prize package. The first place team will win $2,250, second place wins $1,000, third place wins $750, fourth place wins $500 and fifth wins $250. If players wish to sign up for the Rise Till Dawn tournament, they must be 18 years of age.
