Retail Row is returning to Fortnite, with zombies inhabiting the location

We now know of Fortnite‘s intention for the Mega Mall makeover. Fortnite has revealed the return of Retail Row in its original glory on Twitter. The beloved POI was replaced in Season 9 by Mega Mall but will make a triumphant comeback later this week.

However, in classic Epic Games style, this reveal doesn’t come without some controversy. The announcement doesn’t reveal just Retail Row; it also shows a horde of zombies roaming in the neighborhood streets.

Zombies and Retail Row make their way back to Fortnite

The Fortnite community doesn’t like to agree on much. Whether it be a weapon vaulting or item addition, there is usually a split among players. However, Epic Games has recently united its community with a string of questionable in-game decisions.

The first of these is the continued support for B.R.U.T.E., the giant Mech currently terrorizing Fortnite. Epic doesn’t seem to want to listen to the outcry of negativity surrounding this vehicle.

The zombies in Fortnite are not well-liked

Well, if you thought things couldn’t get worse, the developer studio has decided to bring back a previously hated feature. The zombies were universally disliked when they made their appearance in Season 7 and during Fortnitemares. These monsters take a long time to kill and can break through your structures. They do drop rewards if slain, but that’s only worth it when no enemies are around.

However, even with all of this, Epic Games are bringing the zombies back. They’ve only been out for a couple of hours now, but players are already having issues with the fiends. Complaints of the zombies being too strong are coming out from all over the community.

The details on the Retail Row zombies

While the fiends do have a chance to drop rewards, it’s not usually worth it. After all, in Retail Row, there is almost always an enemy or two lurking nearby. However, if you find yourself all alone, farming health and ammo from the fiends is a solid strategy. They’re not too difficult to kill if you’re not worried about enemies.

Some good news is that zombies are only confined to Retail Row. They don’t wander too far outside of the POI, making the addition more bearable. But if a final zone happens to surround Retail Row, you can only hope the zombies don’t cause too much damage.
