You’ve seen the Razer Kraken, but have you seen the Razer Kraken Ultimate? It’s every RGB gamer’s dream set. We got our hands on this latest Kraken update and have given it the rundown. Plus, Razer Synapse 3 is here with Alexa support, and the new Razer Opus wireless headphones have launched. Let’s check out all the cool features.

Razer Kraken Ultimate

Do you want the full 7.1 surround sound experience? Then these are the headphones for you. At the Razer website, this headset purports to “surpass traditional 7.1 surround sound.” With this true 360 sound experience, it becomes easy to hear enemies approaching from any direction. Not only will you hear where they are, but how they are! The headset has a super clear, natural sound curve, meaning everything feels much more immersive.

There’s also an active noise-canceling microphone, although many streamers and gamers today use a separate microphone. That’s why we love the fact Razer’s mics are retractable, sliding back nicely into the headset so you can use your microphone of choice.

Kraken Ultimate Vs. Nari Ultimate

Whilst the Kraken Ultimate lacks a few features of the Razer Nari Ultimate, it has one big defining feature – RGB lights. Gamers love their lighting setups, and now you can have a fully integrated lighting system. Using Razer Synapse, you can sync your chroma keyboard, mouse, headset, and even headstand to respond how you like. It also has a bunch of built-in functions for games like Fortnite.

If you like colors and lights, then go for the Kraken Ultimate. Some gamers, however, really like the haptic feedback in the Nari Ultimate. The Kraken Ultimate lacks the haptic feedback and doesn’t feature the adjustable band like the Nari. However, if this isn’t your thing, you’ll be able to save a bit of cash. The Kraken Ultimate comes in at $129.99 US ($259.95 AU), making it a lot cheaper than the Nari. Plus, many gamers are choosing the Kraken for the added benefit of chroma. Will you go for chroma or haptic feedback?

Razer Synapse 3 and Alexa

We mentioned you can use Razer Synapse to sync your chroma, but now you can do it without clicking anything. The Amazon Alexa module is now a dedicated module within Razer Synapse. If you have Razer Synapse 3, you can have the Alexa Voice Service on your computer. You can easily use voice commands to ask Alexa to activate your Kraken chroma, pump up the volume, open a browser, or start a Chroma party.

Opus Wireless headphones out now

Forgot the noise and immerse in the sound. That’s the new tagline for Razer’s latest product, the Opus. This THX® Certified headset will come with active noise canceling, providing crisp and clear sound. This is the headset designed for everyday use: walking the streets, sitting on planes (when we can travel again), and listening to high-quality music. It’s a useful headset for any gamer’s collection.

You can now head out on the streets and still rock the Razer gear. This is another step Razer is making out into the non-gaming world.

The Opus is available now for $199.99 US ($329.95 AU).

If you could pick one of the headsets we’ve talked about — the Kraken, Nari, or Ultimate — which one would you choose?
