Riot Games announced the 2019 LCS Summer Split Awards with the end of this year’s LCS. This includes the Rookie of the Split, Coach of the Split, and LCS All-Pro Team.
Rookie of the Split
100 Thieves top laner Aaron “FakeGod” Lee won the 2019 LCS Summer Split Rookie of the Split award. FakeGod won first place with 116 points. Cloud9 top laner Ziqing “Colin / Kumo” Zhao came in second with 91 points. Finally, Team SoloMid jungler Mingyi “Spica” Lu ended in third with 23 points. Kumo only played in the LCS while substituting for Eric “Licorice” Ritchie, and Spica joined TSM in their last few matches.
FakeGod joined 100 Thieves’ Academy roster after the 2018 North American Scouting Grounds event. He transitioned to a top laner role on the main roster after 100 Thieves struggled in the Spring and Summer Splits. Along with mid-laner Ryu “Ryu” Sang-wook’s switch to the main lineup, 100 Thieves nearly made it to the playoffs. 100 Thieves overcame Counter Logic Gaming in the first tiebreaker game, only to later fall to OpTic Gaming in the second.
Coach of the Split
Jang “Cain” Nu-ri won Coach of the Split during the 2019 LCS Summer Split. The coach led Team Liquid to a first-place finish at the 2019 LCS Summer Split. Team Liquid plays their next match against Cloud9 in the Summer Playoff Finals. The team also did the same during the 2019 Spring Split and placed second at 2019’s Mid-Season Invitational.
Cloud9 head coach Bok “Reapered” Han-gyu took home second with 78 points. Finally, Counter Logic Gaming coach Weldon “Weldon” Green ended in third with 57 points. The LCS All-Pro Team featured Team Liquid top laner Jung “Impact” Eon-yeong, mid-laner Nicolaj “Jensen” Jensen, bot laner Yiliang “Doublelift” Peng, support player Jo “CoreJJ” Yong-in, and Cloud9 jungler Dennis “Svenskeren” Johnsen.
The 2019 LCS Summer Split’s Honda Most Valuable Player will be revealed on Aug. 22. The top three finalists are CoreJJ, Doublelift, and Svenskeren.
